If he is taking the UT job, he can't make an announcement until Mack publicly resigns.

If he isn't taking the UT job, he can go ahead and make that announcement RIGHT NOW. He's causing increasing damage with each passing day.

Another thought is that "if" he wants to permanently end constant speculation on his future, add a mutually binding $20m buyout. Make his $20m a "bonus" if he stays for 5 more years.

If he stays at Alabama it will be very very anticlimactic.

These thread starters must be the same people who go on television talent shows and act astonished when they're told they can't sing for shite.

Or he could be slow-playing Bama for another raise.

I think he's still undecided.

if he's not going to UT, he's not going to make an announcement until he signs a new contract with Alabama

he's not going to do that until he's got a firm number for UT for Alabama to match/beat

He has. But given his history nobody will believe him or Terry until UT hires someone else.

Meh, wouldn't every other head coach have to do this?

Fixed. He has absolutely no reason to sign anything without getting everyone's best offer. If it takes a week, so be it. It won't cause permanent damage with any recruits or anything. If it causes one to flip, I'm sure a few million more dollars a year will help soothe his pain.

Bitch, Nick Saban owns NCAA Football. He can announce he is the next commissioner and Mark Emert would resign. He will announce his decision once he feels like he has the best offer from both sides.

We've gone past the point of no return with this whole deal.

If he stays, he has to explain this entire episode to the public. We're beyond the point where typical circumstances such as being on the road recruiting can excuse his lack of addressing the situation. If he simply wanted a raise, those negotiations would be over. He's shaking Bama for everything they're worth right now if that's the case.

Or, he takes the Texas job and the only explaining he has to do is "I did what was best for me and my family." It's very apparent that he can't turn down Texas at this point. Just my take.
