Diaz was really good his first run there and fielded a good under manned D at LT this year. Maybe his stint at UT was just a poor fit coughchavisa&mcough

I don't really know the whole situation with what happened at Texas.
To his credit he came into LA Tech and worked hard and did well again.

He's an upgrade from Collins, IMO. He went to UT at the worst time.

I think the events that happened after he was run out of town as the scapegoat with Mack getting run and Strong having to get rid of a bunch of players shows it wasnt his fault.

Really? Because in 2011 they were the top defense in the conference and 11th nationally in total D. In 2012 they only allowed 200 passing YPG in a conference that had 5 of the top 10 passing offenses. Led them in sacks and TFL both seasons.
By "Diaz defenses" I think you mean the few games he coached for them in 2013...

He took our defense that was ranked between 60-90 in every category under Torbush, and turned it into a top 20 D the next year. I love this hire.

Awesome hire for Miss St! Was huge at La Tech with way understaffed defense, and class guy. Really wish we would have grabbed him before Miss St. We'll all see what I mean when we play them next year.
