There's not even a release date and they are filming S3 right now, I'm sure they will.
The recently released Aiel stuff:
Bain and Chiad look like perfect Aiel. Aviendha is a freaking Blinger, they seriously cannot help themselves

A article popped up on my google news a few weeks back that I meant to ask about on here. They said they are combing stuff from books 2 and 3 which everyone already knew but...
I ordered book 3 and was about to start reading it because pretty much everyone on here said book 3 was drastically better than book two. Thought it might have been odd for them to say that the main character is repetitive when there is a good bit of difference in quality of the two books huh?
I don't know if I've ever read something from these showrunners since this show was announced where they don't sound like a bunch of bozos.

He also said that since books 2 and 3 share similar content, in terms of Rand and Ishmael, and they wouldn't want the show to feel repetitive, to expect content from book 3 in season 2.

Book 2 and 3 are somewhat repetitive.
I don't want to get overly spoilerly, but for me the series doesn't really "start" until at least Book 3, possibly book 4.
And that is because you are not *really* introduced/get a POV of what becomes the best, most popular character in the entire series until Book 3. Mat.

I think they mean that both books 2 and 3 feature very similar Rand/Ishy closing climaxes. There was no way we were ever getting 3 straight Rand/Ishy fights to end seasons. So that part makes perfect sense.
I think the big question is what the show does with the Stone of Tear. Alot of speculation that its getting moved to a later season post-Rhuidean.
But season 2 seems like a pretty clear setup at this point for most characters outside of Mat for obvious reasons. Egwene/Nyn are following their book 2 arc, Perrin is sort of a mashup of his books 2/3 arc with his season 1 Elyas teaching thrown in, Moiraine/Lan are getting expanded backstory to keep them involved, and Rand looks to be doing more book 3 arc than book 2, though it also probably will end up being a bit of both.

Official Season 2 start date announced for September 1. Also some pictures released, including one with the Seanchan, Loial, and Ishy together? Guessing thats Falme after some capturings.

Pictures still look like they are CW level costumes, hopes are low.

I couldn't get past episode 1. Did they still Moraine in the TV show?

Not exactly. They have it open-ended at the moment, but if you watch ep. 8 when it happens, its pretty clear that Ishy shields Moiraine and ties it off.

These books deserved so much more. This show is an insult.

If anyone cares, the Season 2 Trailer finally came out yesterday and the season comes out in September.
I guess the Trailer made it look better, production wise, but I guess I just don't care anymore.

Dang FB, even though I wanted to love it and was nerd–heart–broken by the gruesome changes and horrible production values in the first episode, I was pleased that someone with an apparently-equal love of the source material was willing to see the whole first season through and give the show more benefit of the doubt than I was willing to.
I appreciate you taking one for the WOT team. I am not entirely surprised that even your enthusiasm has finally waned, but disappointed nonetheless.
Me, I am going to get something to eat

I said towards the end of S1 that I was waving the white flag. I tried, and I thought people were overly harsh about some things, but as the Season went on it didn't get better, and the Finale was a fricking disaster.

I was excited about the series at first because the books are great. Got my wife to watch with me, we finally get to the finale and she turns to me and ask if the books are this shitty as well.
Could only shake my head, they completely ruined it to the point of if someone had not read the books you would have no idea what the hell was happening at the end of the finale.

Gonna give season 2 a shot with it being terrible as my expectations going in. Sounds like they’re combining books 2/3, I’ll let them have their medium but if this season starts shitty I don’t know if I’ll continue. Do look forward to a book reread, that’s on the radar.

I've mentioned this in other threads, but for a reread, it is fun to read it alongside the Wheel of Time Reread and Reread Redux threads on Tor's site.

Those blogs were originally made to reacquaint long time readers when new books were slated for release, and the Redux just before the final book.
Each blog post is a summary of a chapter and then the blog poster's reaction, followed by endless pages of readers comments. Really helped me tie together the different story lines that were often several books apart, and also pointed out all the great Easter eggs and surprising consistencies throughout the series.
It's also fun to see all the speculation amongst the fans about so many of the Mysteries that ultimately got resolved.

Yeah I bailed after five episodes and won’t even consider watching again

I watched it up until the finale.
I read a spoiler.
I wanted to wait to see if it was real. I read the post-show reactions, determined it was true, and never watched a second of the finale.
