Not sure if you guys have been seeing all of the clips they have been posting.

But they just posted a video of Rand and "Selene".

The Selene lady is an ok looking lady, but its hilariously on brand for the casting on this show and that the show runner is gay.

She's supposed to be the most beautiful lady that ever existed and they cast a kind of normal looking older actress

Can you post those links, FB?

ETA: And wasn't "Selene" in disguise during her first appearances? Pretty, as I recall, but not in her true form?

When does the slog end in the middle of the book series?

I finished 9 a while ago and that was rough. Took a break to read some other things and just picked up 10 and its starting rough too.

Book 10 is by far the worst book in the series. It literally has no purpose.

I'm sorry to tell you that. 9 is infinitely better and that is saying something.

The series greatly picks up after that.

This picture of her is pretty kind. In video, she's a nice looking woman but "Selene" beauty?

I am blown away that anyone cares about this show. I defended the show, vigorously, up until the finale.

Never before has 1 episode of television (aside from bad pilots of bad shows) so thoroughly ended my interest in a show.

Still enjoying the reread of the series, though.

Same, I don't actually care I just thought it was funny.

I'm going to eventually watch S2 just because, but I really don't care very much.

Ouch, not sure I've enjoyed the series enough to keep pushing through.

Honestly, you could read some online recaps and be fine just skipping 10.

Book 11 is a GREAT return to form, and the Sanderson books are good.

Alright, cool.

If someone diehard like me is ambivalent, a hell of a lot more people aren't going to watch at all.

S3 has already been heavy into filming before the strike, so that is almost certainly happening, regardless.

Loved the books

Agreed some of them felt like work to get through

This TV series is rubbish, severely disappointed in the adaptation to the point other books I enjoy I hope never make it to film/TV

As Fun Bunch said, just read a synopsis of book 10, you will literally miss nothing. Book 11 is slightly better than book 8, and Sanderson does a good job with the last three.

There are other ways to watch the show without giving Amazon the click, but yes. I'll be doing something similarily.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do and give the next one a shot before giving up. I've enjoyed the series for the most part but not enough to keep going if its a slog.

Is New Spring what I should read after Crossroads of Twighlight?

New Spring is a Prequel.

You don't ever have to read it but its good and does shed some light on Moiraine pre-Two Rivers. Its certainly worth reading.

For the most part I'd say Book 9 is the worst of the series except for that one huge, huge event that can't be skipped. Perrin's pursuit of the Shadows was soo long and soo boring that I had really started to hate him as a character but he does get some redemption in the Sanderson books. When he catches balefire in his hand and then lectures Egwene on the dangers of the Dream world is my favorite Perrin moment.

Yeah, it'd be pretty close between 9 and 10 as to which sucks more if it wasn't for the last 100-150 pages of 9. But the end of 9 is among the best written stuff in the series, which keeps it from being a complete waste of time like 10.
