Agreed.

Ranking the Books:

1) HBP
2) DH
3) GoF
4) PoA
5) CoS
6) SS
7) OotP (Way too much fluff, could have been shortened by 300 pages at least)

Movies:

1) PoA
2) DH Part 1
3) OotP
4) SS
5) DH Part 2 (It shite the bed in the end)
6) GoF
7) CoS
8) HBP

So my favorite book is my least favorite movie.

I always thought the same and wondered if I was crazy to think so! I probably would have put SS a bit higher than you did, but only because I have a soft spot for the way it captures that child-like wonder of discovering magic and the world that comes with it.

Honestly, I never cared for how she handled the love triangles in the later books (Harry and Hermione were a MUCH better match than Ron and her or Harry and Ginny), but I did feel like she captured the awkwardness and the frustration that comes with those early relationships quite well.

Personally I think Harry and Luna should have ended up together. They had very natural chemistry together in a way no one quite understood about Harry and same with Luna. HBP also provided a great moment where they could have really hit it off being Harry's date at Slughorn's Christmas Party.

Solid point. I did like the potential Harry and Luna thing, as well. Luna was just a great character overall. I found her quirkiness endearing and every once in a while she would sprinkle in just the right amount of empathy to let you know that she was paying more attention than everyone gave her credit for.

Hell, I'd date her.

Such a beautifully filmed movie. Though Goblet is my favorite of the movies.

Goblet was a crappy adaptation because it ruins the movie in the first scene telling you who is actually behind everything. It was obvious what was going on, but in the book you didn't have a clue. That's what made the book so great and none of it is here.

That word "read" as in "red" not as in "reed" makes all the diff here. Lol.

Bonnie Wright was 18 when Half Blood Prince came out. Not really a child.

Not book 7. The last 24 hours takes up something like the last 11 chapters.

I'm talking more about the final showdown/resolution.

Think the showdown between Harry and Voldemort in the book was exactly what it needed to be. The movie fricked up by making it an action movie, and completely missing the point.

Yeah, I thought the final showdown between Harry and Voldemort was perfect. One spell was all it needed to be. When I was reading it, this scene was going through my head: LINK

Pro tip: Snogging is British slang for making out.

You'll need it on the teenage angst book.

Bit different in my ranking

Books:

1) GoF
2) HBP
3) DH
4) SS
5) PoA
6) CoS
7) OotP (Emo Harry and shitty Sirius death)

Movies: (I really like the Columbus movies the best:)

1) SS
2) CoS
3) OotP (just for Umbridge alone, this actress was perfect for this part)
4) GoF (too fast pace)
5) DH Part 1
6) HBP
7) DH Part 2
8) PoA (I really hate his filming technique and stupid smashing shite with set pieces every five seconds, this film just pisses me off)
