Urban Meyer Rips Tom Herman After Texas' Loss To Maryland
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports
After his opening weekend loss to Maryland, Texas head coach Tom Herman said he...

“can’t sprinkle fairy dust on this thing.”
Which Ohio State coach Urban Meyer, Herman's former boss, did not like hearing. Per CBS...
quote:

Meyer also said Muschamp “blamed us for Florida,” referring to a perceived lack of talent left for Muschamp when Meyer departed before the 2011 season.

“C’mon man. I don’t know where that came from,” Meyer told CBS Sports. “It’s like a new generation of excuse. [Herman] said, ‘I can’t rub pixie dust on this thing.’ He got a dose of reality. Maryland just scored 51 points on you.”

“That’s like, when I got here, everybody wanted me to say Jim Tressel left the cupboard bare,” Meyer continued. “If I heard any assistant coach [say that], they’d be gone. You’re done.

“Those are your players. I hear TV guys [say], ‘Wait until they get their own players in there.’ They’re our players. What do you mean ‘their players?’ The minute you sign a contract, they’re your players.

“You didn’t choose me, I chose you. You’re mine, absolutely. I love you, and I’m going to kick the shite out of you, and we’re going to do it right …

“[Blaming players] drives me insane.”

I gotta agree, Herman should have just said they lost because he had heart issues. Maybe Urban Meyer would have understood that excuse a bit better.

This coming from the guy who fake a heart attack as his excuse

Many of Urban's former players prefer angel dust to pixie.

I agree with the man. Imagine being a player hearing your coach basically say "yeah, all the guys we have right now suck. Give me a couple of years to get some better players."

When a new coach comes in and talks about how it's going to take some time to right the ship, that sends up a huge red flag with me. He's starting off by making excuses.

Big words from the man that faked a heart attack to leave Florida.

Fake heart attack aside, I kinda like Meyer. At least when compared to the Harbaugh's of the league. I agree with a lot of what he says

Even though I made fun of the fake heart attack I agree with you.

So those weren't Saban's players that Miles won with? That'll piss off the rant.

Tressel left OSU full of talent, not sure why he used that as the comparison. Cant say the same for when urbz left UF

Urban Meyer is the one who faked a health problem in order to leave florida in a hurry. I think he found out about his star player (TE Hernandez) being in serious gang trouble and departed on the next flight out.

You got to respect Meyer for that. Before the game everybody was talking about how Texas had tons of talent. Now they need pixie dust lol.

Funny how he says this, but Muschamp isn't on public record anywhere criticizing the talent level of the program he took over from Meyer, but Meyer himself is the one that publicly stated the UF program's culture was "broken". And those were the kids MEYER HIMSELF recruited to UF. What a wet steamy vagina of a man....

The type character's Meyer left at UF was a problem for Mush.

Cant stand Urban Meyer but he is right.

I sort of agree with Meyer although it's obvious he has a personal axe to grind with Herman and Muschamp so it makes him look bad in saying it.
