Juwan Howard Takes a Swing During Ugly Michigan-Wisconsin Brawl
© Mark Hoffman / USA TODAY NETWORK
Chaos broke out after Sunday's Michigan vs. Wisconsin game. During the postgame handshake line Wolverines head coach Juwan Howard grabbed Wisconsin assistant Joe Krabbenhoft's face. The two teams continued to get violent for a bit until the situation was brought under control. Badgers head coach Greg Gard had called a late timeout with the final outcome already decided that upset Howard. They exchanged words briefly before their respective staffs tried to intervene unsuccessfully...

If a coach doesn't get fired over taking a swing at another head coach in the “good game” line then every fight that has ever been penalized in college basketball is BS.

Fired? So he can file a lawsuit for racism? Lol. Ok.

Pretty sure assault is a fireable offense, regardless of race. Even the most lefty court would have a hard time justifying that one.

Slow the video down and look frame by frame. He came up and over with an open hand, connected with an open hand, and then pulled his fingers back into a fist while bringing his arm back. (You can see it 3 grabbed before you see the photographer's arena light go off.) 0 for Wisconsin came flying in and connected with a punch; it escalated from there as he then backed away as the Michigan boys started throwing fists.

Juwan Howard was mad, because Wisconsin did have a timeout left, unlike Chris Webber!

Looks like he is embarrassed losing to a bunch of white boys.

Exactly. Change is coming. Sports is the only pillar they have ever had to stand on and it will fall horribly over the next decade.

Doubt there will be any serious ramifications, Kevin Warren is a gutless coward and would be afraid of the fallout. Now if Gard had thrown the punch it would be a different story.

I think he's gone for the rest of the Big 10 season & tournament. Wisconsin has a few players who are likely done until the tournament and that coward coach giving the "suck it" gesture will either be suspended by the conference. If he's a support guy he'll likely never have another job in that basketball program (likely moved to a non-revenue sport.)

If a white coach did that to a black coach he would be fired tomorrow.

Last March, Howard made physical contact with Maryland coach Mark Turgeon and yelled, "I'm going to fricking kill you". What did the Big Ten do ?---nothing. This time, at most, Howard may be given a two-game suspension.

He's just speaking his truth. He's living his best life. He's keeping it 100. All the modern excuses for doing whatever the hell you want to do.

Starting a fight over a timeout is childish and a display of poor sportsmanship. As a coach Howard is supposed to be a role model and set a better example.

coach throws a punch - he must be immediately fired.
