Nola.com has reported that five LSU Football assistant coaches have signed contract extensions, but defensive coordinator John Chavis is not one of them...
quote:

Defensive backs coach Corey Raymond(pictured), defensive line coach Brick Haley, recruiting coordinator/running backs coach Frank Wilson, tight ends coach Steve Ensminger and wide receivers coach Adam Henry have signed deals to extend contracts that expire in March.

Chavis has reportedly been offered a three-year extension worth $4 million, but has not yet signed it, the sources said.

pelini just took the youngstown state job doubt you would steal him from them before he even coaches one game lol

We racked up TOP against easy teams. Our offense couldn't handle the tougher defenses, and or defense was hung out to dry in the big games. Pay the man. I do like the idea of Pelini back as DC, but only if Chief walks.

If he walks hire Bo Pelini...again. Not a great HC but an excellent DC. His temperament is what the Tigers need... some fire and brimstone & butt-kicking when needed. His "D" was difficult with a myriad of stunts/blitzes that opponents could not handle. Geaux Beaux!!!

"Hmm. Tired of having his defense on the field all game every game?"

That is dumb. LSU is #5 in time of possession. Only 4 teams had a defense that averaged less time on the field than LSU. LINK

He will stay, he has built a really good and young D

Out of all the coaching positions (including head coach), his departure would affect the team the greatest.

FYI - LSU was ranked No. 4 in the nation in TOP.

if he's tired of his D being on the field all game, he certainly shouldn't entertain TAMU's offer.

I would hate to lose Chief, but I think he signs after the bowl game.
