re: Any of you baws hunt Thistlethwaite WMA?
Posted by CajunTiger11 on 7/30/23 at 10:06 am
TW is loaded with hogs. And it’s flat out scary walking in early morning with just a little light and a bow and walk up on a group of them. They are loud as all get out and you can’t see because the palmettos are taller than you. There’s no way to be quiet walking to your stand. I just take off full...

Been hunting TW during the week for the past 4 years and I’ve enjoyed the hell out of it. 20min from my house and have my spots set up. There’s no more guarantee in hunting in this state than going into TW and shooting a hog. Makes it fun. Don’t kill a deer every hunt but do have success. But will s...

Baton Rouge vs Lafayette
Posted by CajunTiger11 on 7/20/23 at 9:50 pm

re: Elk hunting tips
Posted by CajunTiger11 on 5/8/23 at 4:52 pm
One thing I’ve learned about bow hunting elk compared to whitetails is back cover is more important than front cover where it’s somewhat vice versa for for whitetails. If you are lucky enough to experience a bill bugling back to your calls and coming into range on a string it’s an experience like no...

Drainage runoff/washout question
Posted by CajunTiger11 on 4/20/23 at 7:54 pm
Figured the outdoor board might be the place to help me out with a question I have…
I’m having a serious drainage washout issue at the road in the ditch and the washout is getting closer and closer to my driveway around the pipe. Is this something I could contact the city/parish to come fix or is...

re: Ever wonder what it's like to wake up a diamondback rattlesnake?
Posted by CajunTiger11 on 6/22/22 at 2:20 pm
Few years back dove hunting in Pecos TX. Walking to get situated with shotgun over the shoulder and stool in my hand. Looking up as I’m walking and one rattled as I damn near stepped on it only about 1-2ft from my foot. I jumped and the stool went flying in the air. Still till this day the scaredest...

Was in Clayton hunting farms years ago was Osborn hunting club then. Duck hunting was very good then but that was 21yrs ago. We now have property as the crow flys just about 5miles away and I can say one thing…the duck hunting is bad. Don’t even see flocks migrating high anymore. We’ve had our place...
