My dad is a machinist, so I asked him to make our bands. They came out great and are very sentimental. I think my husband spent around $3.5k on my engagement ring, but we walked in and out of the store three different times until they came down to that. No need to ever pay what the sticker price ...

They must've been busting arse out there today. When it first happened, we kept hearing at least 3 days. We aren't putting up everything just yet in case the water comes back, but I am so happy!!...

FYI - I confirmed this afternoon that the river isn't even to the levee at the moment so there is nothing even close to pressing on the levee. :) I DO think there was a rumor earlier about a levee in Ascension Parish failing, but like I said - wasn't true. Also, all of their pumps are currently stil...

Thought about it, but for now we are staying. Not saying I will get any sleep tonight though.....
My grandparents-in-law looked to be getting water today, but have been able to stop it so far. They are pretty close to Blind River....

My friend's parents just moved from the back of Old 51 to Ridgefield and report no flooding there. Hope that helps! I feel for you!...
