So I'm on episode 3 (no spoilers)
All of the kids are supposed to be incompetent, right?

And Tom, too, right? He seems like a cartoon character of complete incompetence.

Tom and Greg are pretty much the only reason I was able to finish the show. Roman too I guess. But yea, that's the joke, the kids are the absolute worst.

I think all of them, save Connor, at times show at least some measure of competency, and I think in the right situation, Ken, Shiv or Roman could all prove to be a worthy successor. But, these are all irreparably damaged people.

I feel like they have flashes of brilliance but just can’t get out of their own way because they’ve been so broken by pops and their own blind ambitions.

That's the whole core of the conflict (hence "Succession"). Logan has no real viable successor that he would consider a quality CEO. And part of it is his own doing.

I’ve honestly never gotten the hard on people have for this show. It’s good, don’t get me wrong but I definitely don’t think it was this wild unpredictable ride. It was almost like people enjoyed saying on social media they were watching succession more than the actual show. Its kind of repetitive if anything

It's a tough binge. I think two seasons had aired before I started. I binged one season and needed a break. It's just too many miserable people and the same story line the entire show, just fighting over daddy's money. It gets old. The week in between episodes was actually a good thing.

I did finish the show. And it's good, however it's still not a favorite. Others like it more than me - fans/critics.

Not even the best HBO show in the last 4 years. It's good, but definitely overrated.
