2000 Tennessee vs LSU Try this again. Hopefully third time is a charm.

I believe to this day that the play that changed LSU football was 3rd and 22 on our own 5 yard line with 2 minutes remaining and a tie game. All signs pointed to a draw play, botched punt, and easy field goal by Tenn to end it.
Instead Rohan hit Reed in the middle of the field for and gave us OT. LSU football was never the same after that play.

I was in grad school and still couldn’t speak on Monday. The good ol’ days.

I still have a patch of field turf in a ziploc. The paint has pretty much faded off but anyway.... fun night.

That was the game that made LSU great again! I started watching football in the mid 90s and I always wanted to play Tennessee during the Payton Manning years and they were a big time program. We finally got to play them and it was a great college football atmosphere and game!

My college girlfriend at the time (now wife) coerced me into going to a wedding that night. It hurt very bad.
People who schedule weddings for Saturdays in the fall are buttholes.

Yep and 2001 started the end of the Tenn dynasty that Saban took down
UGA started to emerge as well in the east with Spurrier getting ready to retire

Great game. Showed glimpses of what was yet to come and what LSU football could be

I love that game, before the game my dad told me and my friend to not run onto the field, but then they let us have the north end zone seats that were only 13 rows from the field.
We ran into our Dads on the field

I remember watiching the 4th quater and overtime in Stay Cats on Buorbon Street. Details are a little fuzzy, but remember the crowd going nuts and when the fans rushed the feild, the crowd spilled out into the street and everyone was singing the fight song! Great Night!

Shout out Damien James! I remember he just had a nose for the ball like no one I ever watched play before (until Mathieu). A shame that he left the team the next year. Thought he could have been great at the next level.

I was there. I’ll always remember Toefield running out of his shoe on his way to the end zone.

This was the game that solidified my fandom. This was the first game I ever went to and my mom had to write me a note to give to my teachers that explained that i had lost my voice. After going to the first overtime game in tiger stadium history and watching the goalpost come down, I was officially hooked. What an atmosphere that was.
