Just re-routed a business trip to Jacksonville, driving over in the morning. Need one, hopefully with LSU fans....
Per the Clarion Ledger. If it's anything like that last Thursday night game in Starkville, we shouldn't be worried.......

Any chance you'll do it again this year?...

Purple Man

Posted by MusicCityBengal on 9/9/10 at 10:44 am
Anyone catch a shot of the Purple Man - like the Green Man from "Always Sunny in Philadelphia" in Atlanta last weekend? Hilarious....
Hey guys, just a reminder, I'm working on a freelance article about tailgating and LSU. I'll be in Nashville this weekend and would love to talk to any of you. I live here so I can sort of advise you where to go (Vandy's campus isn't the easiest to tailgate on). Hit me up at sgodjr@gmail.com...

Sam's, but expect it to be slammed. Catch a quick cab to 8th Avenue and visit the Melrose Pub....
Cup it, and you'll be fine as long as you don't draw attention....

I'd recommend Tootsie's and Robert's over Tin Roof and The Stage, if you're trying to get the authentic experience....
I'm not sure where exactly you can do that. There is no front area that would allow that - it's basically a roundabout for valet service. The back of the hotel literally backs up to Vandy Stadium. Fun Fact - that's the hotel in the infamous Erin Andrews nude video scandal....
I'm working on a freelance project about LSU fans and tailgating. I'll be arriving at the Dome and the surrounding area early Saturday morning to find the hardcore tailgaters setting up. I'd love to speak with you if you're planning on being out there. You can contact me at sgodjr@gmail.com Thank...
I feel uneasy that we have to wait another month, but that's about it....

Masoli to Ole Miss

Posted by MusicCityBengal on 7/27/10 at 8:59 am
It looks inevitable that Nutt will push to get Masoli cleared in time for fall practice, especially since he just lost their backup QB Cotton to transfer. Thoughts? Masoli was pure fireworks at Oregon but I think he's only the difference of 1, maybe 2 wins for Ole Miss this year....
Here's a couple suggestions - If you're college aged or just graduated, get up here on Thursday night and go to the Melrose Pub 2 for 1. On Friday night, if you're 20-26ish, go to the Midtown cluster of bars - The Red Door, Broadway Brewhouse Midtown, Loser's. You'll then likely end up on Dem...

re: LSU/Vanderbilt game

Agree totally with jason. DO NOT go downtown to start your evening, especially given that you aren't college freshman. There are plenty of great places to eat and drink in the Midtown area. If you're in the spirit after a few hours, catch a cheap cab ($10) down to Broadway, and if you want to ...

Hey man, sorry I didn't see this sooner. I live here in Nashville in a neighborhood called Sylvan Park, about a mile from Vanderbilt. I'm in your age bracket - 29 - so I can advise several places to eat/drink/etc. Have you book rooms yet? Feel free to email me at sgodjr@gmail.com with any ques...
The Boot's ok, the "Magnolia Bowl" should be changed to "The Fight for a Giant Piece of Wood With a Golden Vagina On it"
I'm not sure where to find it, but the trophy used now was the second version. The first was a giant wood cylinder with a blooming magnolia on top. It looked EXA...

Living in TN, I can tell you that Neyland is great - if you don't have legs. There is zero space once you get to the upper decks, and you can barely sit down with your legs facing forward. That stadium is a great example of upsizing for upsizing's sake. They actually removed some seats a few years b...
