nay on both. the golden boot is stupid to begin with. the magnolia bowl would have been ok if it had been called that since the beginning or towards the beginning of the rivalry. being as it was created just a couple years ago makes it bush league as well.

Exactly. Both trophies are contrived and unnecessary, but in the whole scheme of things, they don't detract from anything either.

They are both stupid.

The Boot was made up to try to create a rival for Arkansas in the SEC. I hate those stupid trophies Big Ten schools play for "the old wooden apple core" and all that. The Boot and reminds me of that lame crap.

Even though our student council supposedly jointly came up with the Magnolia Bowl with the Ole Miss student council it reeks of Ole Miss riding our coat tails. It's sad really, Ole Miss likes to claim we are their biggest rival, and they down play their rivalry with State. Which is complete bull shite. I've heard those losers actually call the game the Magnolia Bowl, never once heard an LSU fan call it that. They are trying to up their status in college football by claiming we are their rival and naming the game. Pathetic.

while i think naming the rivalry is stupid, lsu is ole miss' biggest rival, and i personally view ole miss as ours, like i hate ole miss more than any other team

I could actually care less about Ole Miss. I'm not 60 so there isn't much a rivalry for me. I guess I'm biased since I now live in Arkansas and talk a lot of trash to my friends that are hog fans.

So i'm all for the Golden Boot, maybe the magnolia bowl will grow on me since Ole Miss is actually competitive now.

I disagree. Mississipi State is their biggest rival, those two fan bases hate each other much more than LSU/Ole Miss Since desegregation Ole Miss hasn't won shite, so performance wise they aren't on our level at anything but they are on State's level. While I I hate Ole Miss more than any school. I think right now our biggest rival is Bama and in the early to late 00's it was Albarn.

The boot seems pretty forced. LSU and Arkansas didn't have enough history before they joined the conference to warrant a trophy.

I'm OK with the Magnolia Bowl.

Nay on both. I'm not big on artificially contrived rivalries.

The Boot's ok, the "Magnolia Bowl" should be changed to "The Fight for a Giant Piece of Wood With a Golden Vagina On it"

The Boot may have been forced, but you cannot deny the fact that the LSU-Arkansas game is turning into an intense rivalry. When the two get together, either team can win it regardless of records, rankings, or predictions. In my opinion, that's the epitome of a rivalry.

Hell I can't stand Arkansas and the past several games have been intense as hell. I like the way the Boot looks so....whatever man. I don't really care. Games a game.

im fine with Magnolia Bowl because we have a rivalry with Ole Miss. Arkansas just really isn't a rivalry for me.
