British friend gave me a bottle of Highland Park 12 yr old several years ago and now rarely buy anything else. Had gotten tired of the peaty stuff....
A sip out of Coke bottle and fill with peanuts. Did this for many, many years. When peanut farmer Carter was elected president, 4 years doing without. Knowingly ate nothing containing peanuts.... my protest. At Nicholls State basketball games, my boys kept offering peanuts hoping I'd slip up and...
As an old timer, I recall LSU board of supervisors ran the hiring process, made choices, and was a very drawn out affair and Spurrier was not offered for whatever reason. They chose who to interview out of about 50 applicants and every school knew if their coach applied. Then when Hallman was hire...

In the 90's, fans asked "How can we be losing with all the talent we have?". At that time, I always pointed out that our "talented" players were choosing LSU over schools such as Southern Miss. When players are choosing LSU over the top programs, then you can ask that. Now, we do have the...

Being an old guy, I remember when Cholly Mac was on his way out, another season ticket holder sitting behind me was always hollering "help Mac pack". Next year, same guy hollering "bring Mac back". There will always be many idiots at the games. I have NEVER left a LSU football or basketba...

Old Milwaukee regular, not light. 10-12 years ago, Consumer Reports did a blind taste test on about 20 bears, including brews such as Heineken. The winner was Old Milwaukee. I tried it and still like it. I also always have on hand 3-4 six packs of seasonals such as Abita, Sierra Nevada, Samuel ...
Yep, the younger generation is definitely spoiled. AM radio was all we had. TV coverage? World series wasn't televised and we and most folks didn't even have a TV yet. Most folks in my old days were St Louis Cardinal fans.... no Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, or West Coast teams yet. I am old, bu...
I love Willet Single Barrel, especially considering it's very reasonable cost. In past 18 months, have sipped 3 750's and a 1.75 liter. Have another 1.75 liter that hasn't been opened....
I knew back in day of Derland Moore of the Saints, they were only paid during the season, but didn't realize it was still that way. I knew this because I know the family of Derland's wife....
How is that Dickel Barrel Select? I drank a lot of Dickel White Label in the 70's....

I was sitting in the opposite end zone bleachers. When I saw them moving, thought I just had too much to drink. Fortunately, no serious injuries....
Attended both games. In '73, my wife and I were sitting next to a friend, who was a Tulane fan. When the teams came out for the kickoff, Tulane players were high as a kite. LSU players appeared very flat... no jumping up and down... no banging on each others shoulder pads. I told my friend... t...
Yep, I was a freshman with Billy Cannon in 1956 and lived in the old North Stadium on the West side. Once, I was late for class and when running out of the "dorm", I literaly ran into Paul Dietzel. Nope, I didn't knock him down since I only weighed about 150 pounds. ...
