We do not have an overwhelming amount of talent. There were many instances last night where guys were in position to make a play and failed miserably due to lack of talent and playmaking ability.

We are light on talent at the moment. Deal with it. It wasn't the coaches. It wasn't the qb. The whole team is weak.

There is talent. It's just not being coached up.

For as much hype as the secondary gets, their open field tackling can be pretty laughable at times.

Aggressive mentality feeds the payers. LSU is not aggressive neither on offense nor on defense.

Jimmy Johnson would say we don't have any playmakers on defense. The only one close was D. Thomas and he is out for the year. Everytime we had a great defense we had at least a couple that could make a play.

bullshite! The only places we lack talent is on the interior of the D-line and coaching staff.

The next 2 years you will see.

So, all those top ten recruiting classes for the last 5 years are not worth a shite? msu and ole piss has quiet a few 2 to 3 stars that are fourth year seniors - our high profile folks are now in the NFL after 2 years - ref bama - the great nicky got another defeat from a top 10 team yesterday - I believe that is three in a row for him - he is the GOAT - amirite?

If we have so much talent, why are so many freshmen the best players at their position?

You're right, not calling timeout before half was on the players, calling a 3rd and 15 draw with a roughed up true freshman QB was on the players, starting the game with the RB that had the lowest ypc average was on the players, calling the toss dive over and over into a brick wall was on the players and not running shotgun read plays and tailoring the plays to your talents was on the players as well.

Every year LSU plays 7-8 games where they enjoy an overwhelming talent advantage and 2-3 where they enjoy a slight talent advantage. This advantage has covered up a great deal of coaching deficiencies over the years.

I agree with the OP. The talent is very thin on defense and the o line. The proof is in the pudding. I could care less about high school recruiting ranking. This is college and it's about finding guys who fit our scheme.

We may have talent on defense, but they can't tackle for shite. They were horrible last night.

We have tons if talent on both sides of the ball. They're simply just not put in the best positions to succeed. Part of the coaches responsibility is to coach up every guy to their full potential and put them in positions to succeed. We have wasted tons of 4* and 5* players potential while other teams seem to be getting it done with 2 and 3* players. You mean to tell me that Kansas St who lost to auburn 20-14 and really should've won that game has more talent than us? Hell no

I agree. In particular our linebackers and tight ends are very bad.
