This washed up old has-been has played the exact same character for 40 years. I can't think of a more overrated actor.

These comments are just the latest amongst the ongoing war between the 'Goodfellas' actor and the former President of the United States, as De Niro has made his stance on Trump very clear, with Trump retaliating at one point.
Robert De Niro appeared on a recent episode of 'Real Time with Bill Maher' where the Hollywood star, who is not afraid to speak his mind, commented on the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election.
“We wanna live in a world that we want to live in and enjoy living in, or live in a nightmare?” De Niro asked the host of the show. “Vote for Trump and you’ll get the nightmare, vote for Biden and we’ll be back to normalcy.”
“I just don’t want to feel the way I did (and many of us did) the many months after the election in 2016, where we couldn’t believe that it happened," he continued, "The guy is a total monster and anybody, I don't understand it, I guess they get behind that kind of logic," De Niro said, adding, "They want to f--k with people, screw them because they're unhappy about something."

I'm still waiting for these dysfunctional drug addicts that play pretend for a living to explain to me what this "nightmare" was that occurred under Trump. I remember a thriving economy, military de-escalation, lower taxes and some inroads towards bringing industry back to this country and controlling immigration.
Now we are funding proxy wars, flirting with new ones, inflation is out of control, illegal immigration is out of control, racism is out of control, mental illness is out of control, crime is on the rise everywhere and the President is a dementia patient. That's "normalcy"?

This. He’s an actor. His biggest asset to his career is emotion - like most artists.
He sees Trump attacking folks and it triggers him emotionally.
He just wants a likable nice guy for prez. Very simple perspective.

Things were pretty normal for the first 3 years of Trump's term. Gas and grocery prices seemed pretty normal. Fast food combos didn't cost $13. A lot fewer illegal border crossings.

If you watch it, it was a really strange interview. To his credit, Maher asked him what he thought about the rampant crime in NYC where DeNiro lives & DeNiro basically went silent & said he didn’t know much about it while Maher was just sitting there waiting for him to talk & answer a simple question. Maher was very confused.
My theory is DeNiro is so dug with the Democratic leftist platform that he thought if he criticized liberal Dem leadership for the crime issue he would be admitting leftist policies don’t work & he can’t do that so he just shut down & went silent. It’s really sad to see one of the greatest actors of our generation be such a complete arse.
