Anyone watching right now? I've never seen this before (heard of it though) and it's pretty awesome. Definitely some of the best athletes in the world

Yea I've been watching it since 7, these guys are fricking yoked. Talk about major endurance!

I know you're only trolling/joking, but many of these guys were D1 athletes in "real sports" before doing this. If this isn't a real sport, then do you consider marathons, triathlons, iron man events, decathlons, etc "real sports"??

and now they are doing standing squats in tights on a towel on the beach...what exactly were they D1 athletes in?
It's fine and you obviously didn't get my quote, they are in great shape, but to call these guys some of the best athletes on the planet is a complete joke.
If you actually put any of the real "best athletes on the planet" in a competition like this, they would absolutely smoke the workout warriors.

I'm watching. This is awesome. These guys are monster athletes. Crazy.
Posted on 9/14/11 at 7:38 pm to St Augustine
Please name off some of these "real best athletes" that would "smoke" these guys. I thought you were semi-intelligent...aren't you a chiropractor or something? Maybe you just can't comprehend what exactly these "athletes" do. You think someone like Ray Lewis or Lebron James would smoke these fakers?

Leroy would own this rope climb

LOL. You don't KNOW that. Quit being ridiculous. These guys and girls are legit athletes.

Dude these guys are in extraordinarily good shape. I have been advocating and designing exercise programs similar to this cross fit fad long before it became as popular as it is. I completely recommend working out in a manner that emphasizes a truly strong core and muscular endurance over building bloated gym muscles.
And yes, if you took professional football players, basketball players, etc and had them train in this manner only they would more than likely destroy most of these guys...completely different level of athlete(and I'm talking about skilled players of course/not 300 lb linemen).
Just because these guys can perform a workout routine better than others (after training in almost the exact same manner) does not mean their athleticism would translate to being a world class athlete in any sport that people other than cross fit participants actually cared about.

Dudes just trolling....he's not really that dumb. Same thing when he tried to claim there were more Steelers fans in Jacksonville than Jags fans

I stand by that statement

I did. And no where does he say, "these guys are really good athletes, and they could jump into and any sport and be AWESOME!"

he called them some of the best athletes in the world, that's an insanely bold statement.
It was just the absolute perfect opportunity to use the Kenny Powers quote.

That's like saying a basketball player isn't a real athlete bc their skills wouldn't translate into football or some other sport. Are you really not considering this a sport? Do you consider sprinters, marathon runners, golfers, iron man events "sports"?
Again, name some of these basketball and/or football players that would smoke this field easily. I'd give a welterweight/lightweight mma fighter a much better shot than any basketball player. There might be some cornerbacks or smaller WRs who could compete if they trained for a couple years straight, but to say any real athlete would smoke all these guys makes me

yes (save for golf) but that has been debated ad nauseum on this board. And if you took olympic level sprinters, decatlon guys, etc they would more than likely beat these guys as well, just like the NFLers/NBA players IF THEY TRAINED IN THIS MANNER. The difference between the cross fit guys and elite track and field athletes are that the elite track and field athletes do deadlifts and cleans and then go out and compete in an actual sport. These guys are only competing at preparing.
You honestly would tell me that guys like Adrian Peterson, Patrick Willis, Derrick Rose, etc with world class explosion/power, speed couldn't work out in this manner and beat these guys? These guys are phenomenal at what they do and have made the most of the hand they have been genetically dealt. Guys who have been blessed with better genes(and actually use them in true world class competition) would OBVIOUSLY perform better if they trained in the same manner.

There are obviously some that would compete and be good, but not as many as you think and definitely not "any" real athlete like you stated. Many basketball players don't lift weights, and when they do it's not heavy weight at all. Most NBA players are shaped like Durant, not Lebron...and neither of those guys would even finish one of these events. Patrick Willis and AD wouldn't be very good at this either. You know how hard it is to lift 220+ lbs 50 times for 50 pullups? Since you're a PT, then you're probably aware most football players train exclusively for single burts movements....4-7 seconds of 100% max strength at one time, then rest for 30 seconds. Most football players have terrible endurance. ie: when you see a fit WR/DB collapse in the endzone after a long TD run.
How many football/basketball players would even be able to complete the swimming section??
ok, can't believe I'm explaining this to you, you're obviously very naive/clueless on this subject.

which is why I've said that it would be contingent upon them training for this. Of course you're not going to take a guy out of an NFL workout program and just put them into this. It is significantly easier to go from training for explosion to training for endurance. Many skill players cross train as it is...they just train significantly harder.
because the burst of power/speed required for such a play would deplete anyone...if these people were even capable of such a feet they would be exhausted as well.
0% You've got me there....
although it appears that swimming in the dreaded "open ocean" for 5-10 minutes is too much even for some of these world class athletes
