re: Honestly, how close is this? - Volumnia
It's closer than I'd like as a Hillary voter. I think our odds look good, but it's not a sure thing. ...

re: Polling Question: Do you have a landline? Do your friends/family? - Volumnia
No. My parents still have a landline, but that's it. I think landline only polls would typically over-represent conservatives. Older people are more likely to vote Republican, and they are the only people who still use landlines. ...

re: Early Voting should not exist - Volumnia
Is the information ever really finished being delivered? It's not like there's a finite story that we learn chapter by chapter. I like early voting, though. I would be in favor of having an election week instead of an Election Day. ...

re: Question for Mothers/Fathers... - Volumnia
Calculating and manipulative aren't terrible traits for someone dealing with hostile foreign governments. I can understand why some people don't like Hillary because of those things, but I don't understand why they would mean war. Trump's impulsiveness and lack of knowledge about the world are far s...

re: Question for Mothers/Fathers... - Volumnia
I don't understand the idea that Hillary is more likely to lead us into war than Trump. She seeems far more measured and reasonable, while he asked advisers why we couldn't use nukes three times in one briefing. ...

re: Why is Hillary going to all these blue places if she has it locked up? - Volumnia
Its pretty close, nothing is ever locked up and she's not stupid. ...

re: the pity vote. women will turn out in record numbers on Nov 8 - Volumnia
That seems really odd to me, but we all live in our own bubbles I guess. I'm married with kids, and all my female friends (minus a couple of work friends) are voting Hillary. They aren't lesbians, they shave their legs, and they aren't on government support. I also haven't seen anyone really buy...

re: What Have You Learned This Election Cycle? - Volumnia

re: the pity vote. women will turn out in record numbers on Nov 8 - Volumnia
There are strong, educated women on both sides. I don't think it does anyone any favors to pretend that this is a clear-cut election where one side is 100% right. We all have our reasons for voting the way we do, and while there are a lot of stupid people coming out of the woodwork this election, th...

re: the pity vote. women will turn out in record numbers on Nov 8 - Volumnia
Most people, which includes women, had already decided who they were voting for. Yesterday's news does little to change that. The only potential impact is in people who leaned Hillary but were considering not voting because of the FBI. I don't think there are many of those. ...

re: Obama talks about Trump losing his Twitter access. - Volumnia
If you can't handle dribbling a basketball, you can't handle nuclear codes.
The point they're making is that he's impulsive and lacks self-control. The smallest things set him off and that's terrifying to a lot of people. Right now, the worst he can do is tweet about them, but we m...

re: Obama talks about Trump losing his Twitter access. - Volumnia
Trump brought it on himself. Those twitter rampages are ridiculous. I wouldn't hire an intern who acted like that on twitter, and he is almost 70 and wants to be president. ...

re: Worst case scenario for you if Clinton wins and if Trump Wins.. - Volumnia
I'll be honest - I don't understand what people here don't like about the current administration. I was young and just starting my career when Obama first took office, so it's natural that my income and career opportunities have increased. I won't give him credit for that standard of living increase...

re: Worst case scenario for you if Clinton wins and if Trump Wins.. - Volumnia
Meh, those are the things people said about Obama 4 and 8 years ago and the only one that's happened is higher insurance premiums (which would have happened anyway). Unemployment is down, the economy is doing well, everyone still has guns, taxes are the same, and we have had no embarrassing scandals...

re: Worst case scenario for you if Clinton wins and if Trump Wins.. - Volumnia
If Trump wins, worst case scenario is that a foreign leader makes a comment about him being small or unimpressive and we end up at war. If Clinton wins, worst case is that she is unable to implement her policies or appoint a Justice because of Republican blocks. ...

They don't. Unfortunately, both candidates are majorly flawed and Clinton voters simply believe her flaws are less terrible than Trump's. ...

re: How do you Hillary fans explain rally attendance? - Volumnia
I think you underestimate how much people hate Trump. They are terrified of his impulsiveness and worried about how he handle minor conflicts. This is just one example, but my Mom is a Republican who has openly hated Hillary for years. I've always thought it was over the top, but she was consistent ...

re: How do you Hillary fans explain rally attendance? - Volumnia
Much of the enthusiasm for Hillary comes from people voting against Trump. It wouldn't be a close race if anyone else were in the Republican ticket, but she has a real shite at winning now, despite the fact that people aren't excited by her. ...
