re: Time to go international once again - calitiger
Anything to keep him from playing for England. Otherwise, I predict at least another decade of humiliation for Scotland. :doublebird: the English....

re: Is Tim Brando the new voice of the Tigers? - calitiger
I worked with Tim at CBS. He's extremely knowledgeable about all things LSU and is a gifted interviewer. The obstacles that I see are that he is far too opinionated and confrontational to thrive in a university setting. His interview style would create some awkward moments for certain members of the...

re: Lack of depth - calitiger
Maybe during the year but not in the tourney. There are more TV timeouts and the commercial breaks are longer. Plenty of time for rest. Poor execution and a lack of focus doomed us in that game. Whether you blame it on the coaches, players, or a combination of the two, that was an embarrassing meltd...

I knew him in Los Angeles. Great guy. I think that he moved back to Baton Rouge a few years ago. Could be mistaken, though....

re: Question for older LSU basketball fans (following them since the 80s at the latest) - calitiger
Yeah the 1990 class was hard to beat.....Stanley Roberts (Mr. Basketball in South Carolina), Maurice Williamson (Mr. Basketball in Connecticut), Shaq (Mr. Basketball in Texas), and Harold Boudreaux (Mr. Basketball in Louisiana). Then when you add Vernel Singleton and CJ to the mix you have a team th...

re: Can Stephen Rivers transfer back to LSU - calitiger
Did you watch any of his games at Vandy? He made AJ look like Johnny Unitas. Well, maybe that's stretching it a bit. Maybe Chad Loup? Yeah, that's it....

re: Johnny is Dale Brown Part Deaux! - calitiger
Without the motivational ability. Dale's teams truly believed they could defeat anyone on any given day. That was his gift. JJ seems to understand what the problems are (if his postgame interviews are any indication) but yet we see them repeated every game. Something has to be done and quickly. :ge...

re: Most disappointing players this year - calitiger
1. #2 cornerback position is egregiously bad. 2. Evans is a liability in pass blocking and this fact causes Brees to rush a lot of his throws. 3. Jordan has been non-existent as a consistent pass rusher. 4. Vaccaro- take away the interception from yesterday and he has been absolutely awful. Two ...

re: Where should I watch the LSU game in NYC? - calitiger
Do they always have the LSU game on there? I've heard about this place, but I have not been.
Yes. On average about 20-30 LSU fans show up mostly from north Brooklyn and Queens. I used to live down the street and would go there when I didn't feel like battling the crowds at Legends...

re: Where should I watch the LSU game in NYC? - calitiger
Legends is the place to go but if you can't make it for some reason dba in Williamsburg isn't a bad alternative. They usually have New Orleans beer and drink specials and a person in the back cooking up Caribbean and Louisiana food....

re: Normal to be less passionate as we age? - calitiger
I'm with you, buddy. After we won the second national title, I decided to enjoy the season and adopt a healthier mental attitude when it came to LSU football. After all, I never expected to see us win one national title, let alone two. The same thing holds true when it comes to the Saints and the Re...

re: So per 247, Drake Davis opts for soccer over football - calitiger
I love soccer but unless he's signing with an academy in Europe this decision doesn't make much sense financially. Of course, we'll see what happens when MLS and the players renegotiate their CBA next year. ...

re: Curious about Wisconsin fans - calitiger
Personally, I love the people of Wisconsin and the state itself. Been there many times and have always been treated well. As a matter of fact they remind me a lot of Louisianans in that they enjoy hunting and fishing, eating and drinking, and talking football. I can't wait to make a return trip when...
