Want to get a gauge of this with other fans. What are your expectations/ what would you be happy with? I am thinking 9-8 or 10-7 and would be happy with 9-8. Obviously, Carr is not Brees but I really do think the defense will win us some games and the offense will only be better.

At least 10 wins with a NFC South title. If they can't win the division with this schedule, everyone in the organization needs to be fired.

My expectations are high in this division. 10 wins or better and a Div title. We have the talent folks. My biggest question is in the playing calling on the offensive side.
Lord I hate to put a lot on MT playing all year but his impact if he does is 10 wins+ even with sh!t play calling. Seeing Carr throw for us when pads and hitting are on and in preseason will show how things are setting up. We are a veteran team with veteran coaches there is no learning curve.

Yep, this. There is no good reason we shouldn't win the division. We have a very favorable schedule in a weak division and what looks like a solid (but definitely not perfect) roster. No excuses.

Was surprised you could count to 17 tbh.

very much agree. I think a lot of the season will ride on play calling as well as how MT plays. Would love to see him be back and I honestly do think he will be. Maybe not to the level he was in 2018 but I do think he will have a nice season.

8-9, maybe 9-8 with some breaks are the ceiling IMO.

We have an extremely unproven d line outside of an aging Cam, Pete Carmichael is still calling plays, and Dennis Allen is still the head coach. Double digit wins aren’t impossible but I’ll believe it when I see it with Allen and Carmichael.

10 wins/ NFC South title

As for the playoffs it all depends on match ups/who is healthy/etc so at this point I will just be happy to be in the Dome for a meaningful football game again

Honestly, I don't want to get my hopes up too high for this season. I did that with Dalton starting last year and was severely let down.

Carr is a step up from Dalton, and having Thomas back, and adding a few weapons on offense and defense, I could truly see a 10-7 season.

What is crazy to me is that just 5-6 years ago we were a SuperBowl caliber team and just about guaranteed to win at least 12 games. With a weak schedule and 13 games inside a dome, we could have a decent advantage this year vs. others. Only bad thing is that it seems this team always plays down to lesser opponents.

i expect to win the South... overall record sorta doesn't matter b/c we wouldn't be in line with the #1 seed anyway...

I hope to be pleasantly surprised with double-digit wins, I expect to be marginally content (9-8) to marginally disappointed (8-9) realizing that I may be hugely disappointed with double-digit losses but hopefully get a new coach in exchange.

How's that for hedging my bets

I think this is correct. Anything fewer than 9 wins would seem a disappointment given the carr acquisition. If they win 11 or more I think most would say the saints exceeded expectations.

I hate that so much of our offense again depends on Michael Thomas. Forget 2019 Michael Thomas. If he is just healthy and a top 20 WR league wide next year the offense has all the weapons needed to be very good. Without him and our group of pass catchers has holes in it and is very thin.

I expect a healthy M.T. with a chip on his shoulder. He just needs to stay healthy. I also expect an improved rb room even with a Kamara suspension I believe we have the talent in there to at least hold it down while he's out but with everybody in place I expect considerable improvement from them. Kamara did not have a great year last year.
