Return trip to Domenica
Posted by EarlieMae on 1/14/15 at 6:41 am
Planning on returning this weekend. I've been there in the past but mainly just for the pizzas. I've heard a lot of hype about the cauliflower and also the fried kale, but they're both so darn pricy. Hard for me to pay $18 for a head of cauliflower. Are these items worth it? I also plan on trying th...

Others will probably blast me for this, but I really enjoy the buffet at Landry's (not the chain). Great shrimp n' egg stew and catfish courtboullion, and lots more....

Really? Someone told me their "boogie bird" wings were good.
My current favorites are the salt and pepper wings at Little Chinatown in Kenner. Saw Adolfo Garcia the other night when I went to pick up my wings -- he was getting some too....
re: How did the Mama Della's makeover go?

Definitely agree about his control issues -- from what I've heard, he's not an easy guy to work for. Anyway, it's gotta be either control issues or lack of trust in his employees. ...

I've heard good things about this place. I'm going to New Orleans next weekend so I'm gonna check it out, along with Chicken & Watermelon....

Irvine had him revamp his menu and he added some new stuff, but he also brought back some of the old stuff that Irvine told him to get rid of. The food has never been the issue; it's always been good and still is the best pizza in town IMO. The problem (which I've never personally encountered) has b...
re: What's the best strip club you've ever been to?

Gold Club in BR in the mid-late 90s is tough to beat. Class-A broads across the board. ...
re: tips for Gatlinburg, Tn

We usually stay at a cabin at Gatlinburg Falls or downtown at Zoders Inn overlooking the creek. I highly recommend both. I've only been up there in the winter and it's f'n beautiful, IMO. I love it there....

I really didn't see any women throughout the weekend that I thought were that hot. None of the celebrities or erotic comic models were all that impressive. Nikki Bella was a huge disappointment. Nice body but a meh face. Best-looking woman I saw was probably Jessica Robertson (Jep's wife)....

re: Spinoff: strange creature(s) in the Amite River

I guess the could've been gar, but I could've sworn it/they had hair. Then again, I was probably drunk. From what I've seen of nutria, they swim on top of the water for the most part. Whatever this/these were stayed under the water and didn't come up for air. Gar sounds most plausible. ...
Spinoff: strange creature(s) in the Amite River
Posted by EarlieMae on 1/8/15 at 2:53 pm
A few years ago I was fishing from the bank of the Amite River in DS/Central, down by that spot where a lot of people to to go hang out, drink, party, and swim before they built the new bridge and made access more difficult. Anyway while I was fishing several times I saw a strange creature come up a...
re: What is that red sauce on top of cabbage rolls?
Posted by EarlieMae on 1/3/15 at 12:13 pm
When I was a kid my mom was friends with an old Polish nun who used to make amazing food, including cabbage rolls, or "golabki" as she called them. The sauce she made consisted of a can of tomato soup, a can of diced tomatoes, and a can of tomato sauce. She also added a tiny amount of cinnamon to he...
