Enjoyed some great food and John Cleary Saturday night.
Started with BBQ nachos, brussel sprouts, and BBQ egg rolls. The nachos were very tasty but was skimpy on the meat. I enjoyed the nachos at barrel proof and rum house much more.

The sprouts were awesome. Had a sweet glaze that complimented the bitter char flavors. Egg rolls were good but the sauce was meh.

The eggs (forgot to take pic) were made with chipotle peppers and sprinkled with a habenero infused sea salt that was like crack. Licked that shite off the tray.

And now the wings. Best wings in the city IMO. Big and meaty. Got them with the rooster sauce. Similar to a buffalo but without the vinegar bite. Smokey and peppery with a lingering heat that lasted well after I was done eating.

Wings look tasty, but why not go for ribs, pork or 1/2 chicken?

I can't recall ever seeing these on a BBQ menu.

I've heard good things about this place. I'm going to New Orleans next weekend so I'm gonna check it out, along with Chicken & Watermelon.

Really? Someone told me their "boogie bird" wings were good.

My current favorites are the salt and pepper wings at Little Chinatown in Kenner. Saw Adolfo Garcia the other night when I went to pick up my wings -- he was getting some too.

Speaking of wings, I tried the wings over at Sammich(I wasn't very hungry). They were terrible. They were duck wings which have very little meat, and the sauce was flavorless. It's easily the worst thing I've had there.

I've never had good duck wings. There is not enough meat on them. Little Chinatown has awesome wings but they obviously arent BBQ. I've never had Blue Oak at their current location but have had them at a few festivals and they have some great food.

Before I even read him say it was skimpy on the meat, I was like "Woah, that looks amazing!"
