As a kid going to Houston was a twice a year thing. We would go ice skating at the Galleria and then go to Astroworld and then maybe catch a Baseball game or go to another attraction like the Space center.

Couldn't really swing a nice summer vacation this year with fall and winter vacations already booked, so taking two kids and my SO to Houston.
Now this may not sound great, but to be honest a city as large as Houston has to have attractions.

I plan on getting the city pass and doing that. Have a hotel booked near the museum area. Other than that, just curious about cool places to bring kids.

TIA.

How old are the kids? If they are less than 10, take them to a Skeeters game in Sugar Land. Play area, splash pad, fireworks (Fri only) and tickets down the base line are only $14. I enjoy going with our kids a lot more than going to a Stros game.

I apologize before hand for the "Aquarium".
Battleship Texas is pretty cool.
Make the Bayou Burp.
Waugh Drive Bat Colony.
Discovery Green - Never been but seems pretty neat

so skip the aquarium?

I know that's on the city pass. I wanted to see the natural history museum. (annoys me that we don't have one here in NOLA)

The museum of Natural Science is pretty awesome. I enjoy it as an adult, but would've loved it as a kid as well.

Depending on how old the kids are, they (and you) might enjoy iFly (indoor skydiving). I did it recently and the place was 75% kids doing it. They seemed to really enjoy it.

We love aquariums but Houston is a dud. The natural science museum was surprising. We went expecting to spend an hour or two. Ended up lunching there and shutting the place down.

Yes, the aquarium is a waste of time and money.

Others said the children's museum and I second that. The natural history museum has a butterfly arboretum that my daughter likes and I did find it enjoyable. Though it might be super hot in there this time of year. I enjoy long weekends in Houston. Lots of things to do. I believe wicked is playing there too. Also, they have a pretty good dim sum place out on southwest freeway, I think? A few miles out, but I enjoyed it for being in he middle of Texas. It's called Fung's. Go only for dim sum. I believe it's only on Saturdays and Sunday's at brunch time. Go early it fills up despite it being a large restaurant.
