Happy mother's day to the moms out there! Just noticed some very cheap tickets (under $200) to NYC on American so figured I'll start the thread and we can keep it going throughout the week. All prices are for a roundtrip ticket, if you have any requests or questions feel free to ask.

New Orleans to:

New York City: $196 on American. Cheapest I've seen this route in a long time. It's a lot of Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday departures in June and July with quite a few different return dates (example Friday night to Monday afternoon).

Chicago: $119
on United, $168 on southwest. These are mostly for Tuesday or Wednesday departures in June or July.

Philadelphia: $98 on Frontier, $155 on American. Mostly Tuesday/Thursday departures in June, return Sunday or Wednesday.

Orlando: $101
on Frontier, $155 on Delta, $158 on Southwest. Frontier departures on Saturdays, Mondays or Wednesdays.

Tampa: $170
on Delta. June through february of next year

Seattle: $284 on American, $289 on Delta. Mostly June, a few dates the end of July, then cheap most of august

Atlanta: $98 on Southwest, $169 on Delta. Last week of May through the first three weeks of June

Just making sure I'm doing this right. I only see 1 less than $200 day in July when I look at the calendar. Still playing with options BUT again, want to make sure I'm not missing something reading/using the calendar.

You're doing it right, it's just the calendar program is a little funky for the nyc pricing. So it's showing up June 1 and June 7 as the cheap dates. But if you suddenly click on Departing New Orleans on June 10th, two cheap return dates on June 14th and 15th pop up.

For your July 13th-19th, it shows up now as $226
If you did a week later (June 20th-July 26th) it's $196

While watching Grey's Anatomy last night I pondered to myself what I would do if I visited Seattle. All I could come up with was the fisherman's wharf. Maybe someone could enlighten me on things to do in Seattle.

Orlando: $101 on Frontier,

Is Frontier pretty decent to fly with. I'd like to take the kids (11 and 10) on an extended weekend to SeaWorld and Universal Studios.

It all depends on the specific dates you're interested in and whether southwest is around $160 vs Frontier's $101. If southwest is at $160, I'd highly suggest going with them instead as they have family boarding, no checked bag fees, and you can choose where you sit. You'll have to pay for a seat or a bag on Frontier

I will be flying to Seattle form NOLA July 13 returning July 20. I am waiting for UR points to post in about 10 days and have noticed a big increase in price today. Do not want to wait to long to purchase tickets and was wondering what is your suggestion as to what date you would not go past to book. Would like to fly Delta as my daughter already has a ticket on that date. I am looking to buy 3 tickets. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

Delta's at $344 for those dates, that's not too much more than the cheapest I've seen ($264 I think), especially for the middle of summer. How much were the tickets when you were looking at them before the price increase?

The latest I would book your tickets is about a month out so the middle of June. Right now the middle of June on Delta is $344 and that's only for two dates so for this situation it's probably better to book a little earlier than the month out.

The cheapest I have seen on the Chase UR portal is $282 about 2 weeks ago. I should have booked then with points and cash but was waiting to use just points. I have seen large fluctuations and would like to book before June 1st on just points but if price drops below $300 again I will book with points and cash to lock in rate.

Sounds like you've got a good plan worked out. If I see MSY-SEA go down under $300 I'll let you know

Thanks. I think I get my bonus points around 5/24. If I see under $320 the last week of May I will jump on it.

Always appreciate these threads, even if I'm not able to jump on any of the flights that particular week

$212 for a one-way ticket on American or Southwest in the morning or United in the afternoon/evening. If you leave early on the 9th or late on the 11th it's $156

Actually if you wanted to leave from BTR it's $186 for Friday night on Delta. Rare occasion where it's cheaper

Thanks . I always want to post new places that become cheap to throw in a little variety. Sometimes it gets a little stale just showing the same cheap flights to miami, dallas, chicago, atlanta, denver...
