Attending a wedding that way in three weeks. Me and the Mrs. are looking to enjoy a few days before it. We haven't been in Austin in over 25 years and I've heard it's almost unrecognizable.

I liked Eureka on sixth street for a really good burger. One of the best burgers I have ever had. There are some places right around there that have live bands almost every night also if you're into that.

South Congress area for food, South Congress Cafe, etc. There's some cool bars and eclectic shops there as well. If you feel like going out I'd stick to Rainey St. If you're an adventurous eater I'd definitely check out Dai Due, they are doing some really creative stuff and just advertised Bison chops on their Instagram.

The BBQ in Austin is head and shoulders better than anything in Lockhart.

Austin bbq is over rated. Some of the places require waiting in line for an hour or more. Blacks in Lockhart and Louie Meullers in Taylor are both worth the drive

If you're heading south towards San Antonio or New Braunfels, stop in San Marcos and eat at either Hayes Co BBQ or Kent Blacks BBQ. Both are great

for Mexican- Herberts Taco Hut.
