Trying to decide between Nashville, Charleston, Savannah/Hilton Head, Portland, ME. Will be going May 26-30 (Memorial Day weekend).

Where would you go?

I'm always searching for colder weather. Maine.

Plus, you don't really want to vacation in the south do you?

Any of those but Nashville, which will likely be hot as shiite that time of year. None of those are really bad choices, though.

I'd pick Savannah and I can't tell you why.

Portland, especially if you like beer.

Second would be charleston.

I think Portland would be my top choice, but it's expensive as hell to fly there that weekend!

Serious question: do you live in la? Because every other place you named, while good places to visit, won't really feel too much like you left home. Portland is a definite change of pace.

Being from South MS, that is exactly why I said Portland.

Yeah I would highly recommend Portland.

Savannah and charleston are both fantastic. In fact, charleston is one of my favorite places I've visited. But they won't feel like a far departure from home.

Yeah, I live in LA.

We did Charleston last year and loved it - really considering going back.

I'm high on Portland. Hoping I can convince the wife and make it work!

Hilton Head no, unless you like shopping/ golf.

You could do Savannah/Charleston, 2 days in each. It is a beautiful, easy drive down Hwy 17.

Portland would be nice just bc I've never been and would like to go.
