So the gfs family has their annual beach trip next week. Last year we only got to do 3 days so it was really quick and didn't get to do much. They are more of a chain restaurant type of family but frick that noise. Only time I've been to PC before was for my SB in senior year of HS so I don't really remember jack shite. Any good shite to do other than pineapple willys and sharkys bullshite? Thinking of booking a deep sea trip for us and her brother who starts college next year as an grad present from us.

Had to go to PCB for a conference 5 or so years ago, and they've really spruced the place up. The western end is comparable to Destin/OB now with new condos, shopping centers, etc. Seems like I remember seeing a newish water park in that area as well, but I may be wrong. The Thomas Dr area on the east end was still pretty trashy.
For a nice dinner, Saltwater Grill is really good.
Check fishing reports before booking. I've heard from a couple of different people the fishing has been horrible this year, but those are coming from OB. Nothing worse than dropping bunch of dough, sweating your arse off, and not catching much. This link says that hasn't been the case in PCB though..

Went on a charter trip with Ashton on the Showtime out of PCB a couple years ago. He is young so I was kinda leery about it but he had good reviews and an ac'ed cabin (took my dad and figured the ac would be nice to have while traveling). Turns out he has been on the boat for a long time and is very knowledgeable about the PCB waters. Water was rough and the fishing was tough but he worked his arse off to put us on fish and keep the boat on them, five of us got our limit of reds 10-30lbs and lots of different grouper, mahi and a couple kings. Will definitely go with him again next time I go to PCB. I haven't been on his website lately but he does post catches on his Facebook page Showtime Sportfishing Charters, give him a look.

My son and I will be taking the 6PM-2AM snapper trip for $80 from Captain Anderson's Marina one day. Between the 5th and 8th. We did an afternoon 2-7ish trip last summer and had a blast.

I did the big multi person trip in Destin last summer and it wasn't all that good. Not near as many tangled lines as I thought since you just drop the lines straight down, but the fishing sucked and it was boring.
Guess we are a little spoiled too since fishing is so good in south La
I had wanted to find a 6 to 8 person group that we could go with because I wasn't up for paying $500 for the two of us to fish.

Yes, we had about 35 people on board it was rough as shite but we caught quite a few fish, just nothing big. Surprisingly the lines didn't get tangled very much. I mostly went to see if my kid had sea legs, and he did. I'd definitely look into splitting a trip if you were looking for 2 or 3 on a 6 pack trip. I'm thinking it will have to be an afternoon trip though, my son was invited to go play baseball and that will mostly be in the AM.

Gotta do Captain Anderson's, that is a PCB tradition and probably the finest dining around. Follow up with some Club La Vela...

Best thing I've ever done in PCB was rent a Catamaran. Ended up parking it on a sandbar and finding the most beautiful deserted beach to hang out on for a few hours. We were able to go out into the water for hundreds of yards without coming anywhere near deep water.

Went to PCB for the first time in my life over Memorial Day weekend to do a scuba trip. Dove the Red Sea Tug. Place is very nice.
We ate at Capt Andersons and Schooners. Schooners is a fun place. The food at both is a 3.5/5 stars IMHO...but I'm used to La cooked seafood. So for most people it'd probably be a 4-4.5/5 stars.
Going back last weekend in July...Gonna check out Saltwater Grill. Seeing all the comments...
