I'll be in town as well. Staying at the Monteleone.

I honestly don't know the prices, but I've heard really good things about the new Ace Hotel.

My wife had to stay there a few months ago. She loathed it.

I had a good laugh when she described the "curated record collection" in her room.

To be fair, now that I think about it I've really only heard people talk about the bar in the hotel. Don't know about the rooms.

It's a "modern" hotel now doubt. I guess the stick up their butt type would call it hipster.

The restaurant and the rooftop bar are very good.

For the OP, are you a member of any hotel rewards programs?
I always find good value with Embassy Suites due to the big free breakfast and the manager happy hour with free drinks.
The one in Nola is in the warehouse district.

We live in Austin. I think the apt description is "try hard."

I stayed at a Sheraton in the French quarter that was perfect. Reasonably priced, good property, and far enough from bourbon street to keep away from the craziness.

Ya, that's all I've ever heard about the place as well.

She didn't like the Roosevelt either on a separate trip. "People pay all that money and I can barely squeeze my way to the bed."

We lived in New Orleans for a good long time so we had no need to check the hotel rooms until recently.
