Anyone stay at one or more of these hotels? Opinions (positive or negative)? Other advice or recommendations?
The wife and I are headed to Paris for her b-day next fall. This will be her first trip to Europe and my second, although it's been many years. Staying for a week and a day. We would like something somewhat centrally located, close to public transit, and walking distance to restaurants. I'll hang up and listen - TIA

I assume Marriott because of points? Also look at Starwood due to merger.
If it's just a brand preference disregard.

I stayed in the Marriott in Jakarta a few times and it is First Class. I had my Card and being there on Business you get to go to a Special Buffet up on like the 27th Floor and you have to have a Pass or you cannot get on the Elevator but they had all kinds of foods and drink. I was flying out early one morning and I called the Desk and they sent me a Special Breakfast. I would stay there again and again. I had a Friend that stayed in Singapore at the Marriott and he said it was the same service.

JMHO...save the points and use them for a trip in the states. While Paris..stay at one of the old refurbished buildings that are now used as a "hotel". Stayed at one a few years ago but can't remember the name. Somewhere like the Hotel de Ville on Rue de Rivoili...easy walk to Notre Dame, the Louvre and the subway.

Have stayed at Marriott on Champs Elysee and the Renaissance Place Vendome both are very nice and have good locations to explore from. The only thing I would say is rooms are smaller than in the states but that's normal in Paris

We stayed in a Marriott Courtyard many years ago...it was outside the city center, but close to a Metro station. we liked it...we didn't spend much time in it. I will try to find the location, but this was almost 20 years ago.

My preference would be the Marriott Opera Ambassador....on Blvd Haussmann, near the Galeries Lafayette. Just a few blocks from the Richelieu or Opera metro stations...
