Luxury Beach Resort (Adult-only) Recs Caribbean or Hawaii

I've got the big 20 year anniversary this summer and we are thinking of a beach resort type trip. We prefer an adult-only venue since we are leaving our kids at home. On our honeymoon in Aruba, our resort had tons of kids. It was loud and chaotic. We want something chill, 20 years later.
The wife (no pics) was thinking Hawaii and I was thinking something closer in the Caribbean or Central America. We aren't really on a budget, but we also can't afford $2k a night or something crazy.
We haven't ever been on a cruise together, and my vision of cruises are like putting the walmart crowd in a floating buffet. Am I wrong and should I reconsider a cruise?
Thanks in advance!

I'm sure there may be better but I have been to Hyatt Zilara in Cancun twice. Very nice and fun people. Plus certain times of the year you can get direct flights out if Nola

I went to Sandals in Nassau in December. It's a quiet couples resort. We were there for a wedding so we definitely stuck out. The resort itself was the nicest I've been to (better than RIU Palace in Punta Cana and Divi in Aruba). Nassau kind of sucks. If you're not looking to leave the resort, I would recommend it.

Peter Island BVI. Great beach, pretty secluded; they have 1 or 2 beaches that you can reserve for yourself only for a few hours. Stay at the beachfront villas. You can day-trip on their yacht, I believe. Definitely my favorite beach resort for anniversary-type vacation.

Go back to Aruba, stay at the Ritz. Great facility, Ritz level service, very few kids (in June, at least). I think rooms are in the $300-$400/nt range. The property is the last one going north so it is pretty quiet on the beach. That water, bluest and clearest I've ever seen (hard to tell in this pic).
It would be kind of cool to go back where it all began. Some parts of the island haven't changed a bit while the tourist zone has some pretty nice hotels, casinos, and restaurants these days. If you do go back be sure to get reservations at the restaurant with the private beds, I forget the name.

That kind of trip I'm thinking Fiji or the Maldives. Fiji was very inexpensive once you get there. Flights were the most expensive part of the trip

Hyatt Zilara Cancun if you are just going for the resort. If you are going for the surrounding area, I dont suggest Cancun. Maybe Tulum if you wanted to do Mexico and get out of the resort some, but there are plenty of other cooler places than that.
