Anyone have any info on late spring skiing? My schedule only allows me to go the last week in April. The latest in the season I've gone is to Park City in mid March. Has anyone ever gone late April? And if so, where?

ABasin and Loveland as the above poster said.

Snowbird in Utah stays open late, as well as Squaw in Tahoe. Both of those places are doing really well with their snowpack so that bodes well for spring skiing.

Spring skiing is awesome but don't expect it to be middle of the winter conditions. Expect the possibility of limited terrain. Embrace the slush, put your shades on, and enjoy!

**That's not to say you still can't get dumped on. I had one of my best powder days of the year and maybe best run of my life last year in Breck about April 15 or so last year.

Does Loveland or ABasin have any "ski in, ski out" type of lodging? I was hoping to go to place like that and not have to drive.

No those are both locals mountains with no lodging. Banff possibly has great late season skiing so you may check into that.

Stay in Keystone. Easy bus ride up to ABasin.

But no, neither of those have ski-in, ski-out.

Appreciate the info, I'm going with a group who would prefer the ski in and ski out without traveling. I'll look into banff, snowbird, and squaw

We are going to Mammoth. Reports are good. They stayed open until May 29th last year.

Will be my first time there.

Reports are historic for Mammoth this year. I forgot they stayed open late as well.

Go to California. Mammoth is predicted to be open til the 4th of July this year. I'm sure the Tahoe resorts will be open late too.

I've skies both Squaw and Snowbird the 3rd week of April before. If there's enough snow (which should be the case this year) it's some of the best fun you can have. The mtn typically refreezes overnight, so don't try to make first tracks. It softens around 9-10 am typically, then is good for a few hours before turning into oatmeal around 2pm each day. Each mtn and day will vary, but you should get 2-4 hrs per day of great conditions.

Slight hijack...I'm planning a ski tip April 4-9, tentatively for Big Sky. Wondering if snow there will be good thru late season. Maybe we should consider Tahoe. Love the skiing there but Tahoe is not really my thing.
