I am traveling to Fort Meyers Thursday and Uber is not allowed to pick up at the airport. Is there anyway around this? The cab ride is double the uber fare. Can I walk like a few hundred yards away from the airport or anything?

Go to the nearest hotel and get picked up there.

Pretty sure once you're off the airport property they can't say anything.

I'd try it first. Had the same issue in Miami but was still able to get an uber to come get me simply following the normal uber procedure.

Find out which nearby hotels have a free airport shuttle. Go to that hotel and call an uber. You can test on the app by putting in the hotel's address and seeing if uber will let you request a pickup.

You set the pin location right outside the airport. You then call/text the driver you are at the airport. Problem solved.

Do you know this for a fact? I know Phoenix just recently voted to allow Uber to pick up at the airport here (already checked it on my uber app and they have already started) and I've heard other cities are starting to do the same as well.

Friend of mine said when she travels she just takes the free airport shuttle to one of the off airport parking lots and has Uber pick her up there.

Lyft picked me up at the ATL airport last week. They arent supposed to, but the app let me request it and the driver picked me up anyway.

A few months ago when I arrived to IAH (HOU), I got an Uber driver to pick me up from the passenger drop-off area b/c the line at the pick-up was outrageously long. This might work in your case as well.

People should be doing this even without Uber, but humans as lemmings love to stand/wait in lines for some reason.

Yeah know for a fact ubers are not allowed at airport because a few buddies are already there and couldn't get one. Thanks for the hotel shuttle idea. I will look into that.

Telling you man. Drop the pin outside the airport and redirect. They'll come get you.

have it pick you up 300 yards away, once they reach that pin call them and say youre at the airport and the meter will continue running.
