How much would you pay for flying internationally in premium cabins?

Out of curiosity, I want to know how much people pay for travelling internationally in premium cabins (if at all). So this is a two fold question:
1) Do you ever buy First or Business class tickets to fly internationally? (where the bill is paid by you out of pocket)
2) Obviously, the price point is not for everyone. Especially for first. At what maximum price point would you regulalry purchase:
2a) Business Class ticket
2b) First Class ticket

1) Not yet.
2a) Say +1500-2000 from regular
2b) Would depend on carrier and ability to splurge.
The problem is your question is necessarily colored by the knowledge that with some careful planning a person can fly international on business class or first class through a mileage redemption or flight purchase + upgrade.

Ya probably something like this, especially to Asia. I'll avoid (or strongly try to avoid) ever flying to Asia again in economy.

If I can afford it I agree. I flew from HKG to IAH in the middle seat on a 777 for 14.5 hours. Miserable.

I'm sorry, I don't think I understand you. I am curious how much cash people will pay for Business in First class international long haul flights fairly regularly.
For ex: Would you pay $4,500 for something like Emirates Suites? This is priced at around 25-30K and out of reach for most people. But if given the op. would anyone shell out the extra $2-3K (from economy) to do it?

what is the difference between the "price" and the "price point"?

I guess price point is the price above which you would say "no too expensive"

No way. But I do fly BC via my company
2) Obviously, the price point is not for everyone. Especially for first. At what maximum price point would you regulalry purchase:
2a) Business Class ticket
+1000 to + 1500 over coach
2b) First Class ticket
Not worth it. You get lay flat seats and all the trimmings in BC, IMHO.
Coach = Yugo
BC = Porche
FC = Farrarri

You're absolutely right down to the car analogy. I have to say there's pretty big difference in J and F. The hard product may be a smaller difference but the soft product is where the real difference is. Ok none really needs Krug and Caviar but it's an experience. Would I pay full price for it though, hell no.

All day long.

Why use a term that you have to guess the definition of?

Sorry, what I meant is although your question asks about cash, i keep coming back to, "why would I pay cash when i could use miles" which I realize isnt the answer you sought.

1) Do you ever buy First or Business class tickets to fly internationally? (where the bill is paid by you out of pocket) - Only when there is a special like 2 for 1. I did V-Australia for 6500 from Brisbane to Houston via LAX a few years back. Multiple times i've splurged for premium economy which is typically about 1.5x economy when i've flown. Also using points the price is more reasonable and i've done that quite a bit.
2a) Business Class ticket 3x economy but nothing more than $3500 for a 12 hour flight.
2b) First Class ticket - never
