Honeymoon ideas in US for Thanksgiving week

Getting married on Nov. 17 of next year and the fiancee and I decided we want to stay in the states for the honeymoon. We're going to be gone for the entire Thanksgiving week and I'm trying to brainstorm on where we should go.
One place we're thinking is San Francisco to do some sightseeing and check out Napa Valley. This sound like a good idea?
Any other suggestions?

Wine country has been my favorite of any trip here in the US - to the point where I want to elope there when that time comes. It is beautiful and can be very romantic. If I had to honeymoon in the US, that is where I'd choose.
San Francisco is a really cool city with one of the most diverse food scenes in the country, which combined with some relaxation time in wine country, sounds like the best of both worlds.

Bad fires in Napa and Sonoma right now. We have a trip scheduled to Napa in a month and they need rain badly.

Napa valley would absolutely be my suggestion. It's beautiful, romantic, the food is amazing, and she'll have had enough wine to actually be sexually attracted to you.
Make sure to budget enough to have a meal at The French Laundry. It's worth the money.

I saw that. I tend to avoid the comments section on this stuff, but this comment made me sad:

I'm in Santa Rosa and half of my town is burned to the ground or on fire. Hundreds of people have lost their homes and livelihood.
Santa Rosa is where I stayed when I did wine country, and it was a lovely place :(

We looked into Banff, but I think we'd rather make our way up to Canada during the warmer months.
Good stuff so far guys, reinforces our thinking.

This is key

I'd llok at the final damage from the fires before I'd consider Napa and I'm saddened to say that.
Maybe the Oregon wine country. It's supposed to be beautiful with some stellar wines and much less pretentious than Napa.

Honestly, I can't think of anywhere I'd want to go for a full week during thanksgiving. It's too late almost for good gal weather, but too early for snow. Plus you have tons of people traveling, prices are very high for most things like big cities.
I think places you can go for a solid memorable trip for a week on a honeymoon would be Seattle/ Oregon, San Fran/ wine country, Boston/ cape cod/ New England, Miami/ keys, and maybe some national park type stuff that have good weather like in Arizona or Utah?

I can tell you that thanksgiving is an awful time to come to New England. Probably the worst point in the year.
It's past the beautiful part of fall, but before the beautiful time of winter when there's snow on the ground.

What about a Vegas and southwest trip? Do a national park or two, and also do Vegas? Honestly, that time of year I'd consider that. I don't know how Vegas is during thanksgiving, id think busy? Be careful because some national parks have big closures that time of year.

I know you said you want to stay in the US, but here's a pitch for two non US destinations:
--Montreal; yes, it will be cold, but find a b&b or hotel with in room fireplaces, jaccuzi tubs, heated pool/sauna, and buy a nice warm parka.
--Munich & Salzburg: the Christmas markets start the Saturday after Thanksgiving Thursday, so if you can fly later in the week, you'll get some magical Christkindmarkt experiences. Everyone goes out into the streets, drinks mulled wine & punsch, and generally has a good time...every night of the week until Christmas. It won't be snowy yet, but cold enough to need an overcoat. Great weather for enjoying hearty Bavarian food & hanging out in indoor beer halls.
So back to the US: Napa/Sonoma is a great choice, except that everything's burning to a crisp right now. Things should be okay by next year, but you'll be looking at lots of fire-scarred landscapes. But SF itself has plenty of food, sights, and cool stuff to keep you entertained for a week, even if you don't make it to Napa. The drive to Big Sur is amazing, though a key bridge & sections of highway 1 are still out so you can't do the full drive.
How about New York City? Not too cold, an endless array of things to do/see/eat, and a huge variety of hotels/amenities.
