In Beijing, you have to try the Peking duck. I went to DaDong which is the best Peking duck in China. Most delicious bird I've ever eaten.

Is this the place where they give you a card with the duck's # on it? Also lets you write a note on duck with a sharpie before it's cooked?

Awesome review! China is a great place to visit

Hope my suggestions helped a bit!

They definitely helped me out. I was not able to find the food you recommended in Yangshuo, but I stayed at the Yangshuo Mountain Retreat outside of the town.

Was this a tour or did you plan this out?

I planned it out over the course of several months and found a private guide and private driver to bring to me to each place that I wanted to go. I booked the flights, hotels and trains on my own. I used a travel agent to book the drivers since they did not speak English.

I did want to go to Zhangjiajie national park

and jiuzhaigou

as well as Lhasa

I only had two weeks and didn't have time to see everything I wanted but I plan to go back one day. The Sichuan province is also supposed to be really beautiful. I really had to fly everywhere because it was all spread out. Yunnan was the exception, the sites were 3-4 hours drive apart so it felt like a more authentic "backpacker" experience.

Will never make it there but would love to experience China or Japan one day.

Hate to bump this thread, but had to ask if you are still online and still living in South Korea? Thanks

AMAZING

thank you for coming back on here to share some of your experiences and photographs.

That is the very essence of why this board created in the first place.
