Boston trip next summer

Doing a Boston trip with the wife next summer and we've always planned to do Marthas Vineyard and the coast in addition to Boston.
Looking at a map recently i noticed Montreal was 300 miles away and you would drive through Vermont and NH in getting there, which has always been on my list.
My question is- Is that asking too much to squeeze a drive to Montreal in on top of Boston/MV? Or should i stick to just Boston and MV? MV shouldnt take up more than a day should it?
Also, why im asking, do you recommend that trip to Montreal?

I mean, it's certainly doable. But kind of depends on how much time you're planning to have for this trip.

I was just in New Hampshire and it's absolutely gorgeous, but I think the fall is when you want to drive inland... summer should be spent on the coast

Nothing against Montreal but I would go to Quebec instead. It is the closest thing you will get to Paris without crossing the ocean. Stay at the Chateau Frontiac Fairmont.

Just returned from Boston and MV. MV you can see in one full day it's gorgeous. Boston depends on what you want to do, definitely north end, seaport is cool too. We took in a Red Sox game so that was 1 day. We were in Boston for 3 days and was able to do and see alot.

Stick with Boston, I wouldn't try and do Montreal.
There is enough day trips around Boston that are closer like Maine and Newport Rhode Island.
The Cape and Martha's Vineyard are a little harder to get around unless you plan to stay a night or two there.

Unless you have multiple weeks to travel, I agree with this.
Boston alone is a place you could spend 4-5 days easily, and there are so many places within an hour to hour and a half drive that are worth seeing, going to Montreal is completely unnecessary.
Places near (less than an hour and a half drive) Boston include:
Portland, ME
Newport, RI
Providence, RI
Newburyport, MA
Glouchester, MA
There's plenty more depending on what you're looking to do, but that's a good place to start.
