Alright, so I know there have been a number of threads on things to do in Austin and where to eat and go out, but after reading through them it leaves me with a couple questions that I couldn't seem to find answers to. Hoping y'all can help guide me through them for my bachelor party in mid-November.

1. What should I anticipate tickets to the UT/WVU game being if I bought some outside the stadium day of? Don't need to be 10 rows up on the 50, just would like to get into the stadium and check it out.

2. For things to do during the day, I've seen a lot of people mentioning Barton Springs, Hamilton Pool, and of course Lake Travis. Doubt we get to Lake Travis, but for Barton Springs, is November a good time of year weather-wise? Or will it be on the colder side of things?

3. How is the Top Golf in Austin? I don't want to waste half a day on a course so I thought this might be a viable option.

4. Depending on whether we go to the UT game or not, and when it's played in relation to the LSU game, we may need a place to watch the latter. Is there a good LSU alumni bar worth hitting up?

TIA.

Now that i got that out of the way.

1. Tickets can be had. will be reasonable if ut keeps losing. Official UT link

2. Will be cooler, depends on your tolerance coming from Boston. Barton springs is year round 55 degrees.

3. Top golf is fun. If you really like to play we have plenty of public courses that will save money. TG is a lot to hit a 6 iron imo. I would check golfnow.com, lot of public courses for reasonable prices.

4. Shoal Creek Saloon is prob the big one. they do a hog for ark game

German beer fest south of austin (Wurstfest)

New gun range supposedly opening soon

Day time activity potential. Can get a groupon. Never done K1 but have done the other. Was like $35/each for 3 10 lap races. Carts were governer limited so some were faster than others, but was fun.

If going out to bars at night, anywhere in the downtown area really cant go wrong. Literal frickton on east sixth. A little more refined about 5 blocks west (The Ranch, Dogwood, Concrete Cowboy, Rio, etc.)

Thanks for all the info.

The group of us are all in our 30s, so we wouldn't fit in very well with the bars that cater to the younger crowds.

Here is a link that may have other more low key (as in not adele at the frank erwin center) events such as concerts. May be able to catch a good show of some kind depending on date. COTA track has the big names and doesn't show anything for november on their website. Lot of good music venues (Stubbs, Clearport) will be luck of draw who is playing that wweekend.

Damn Winston, coming through big time.

Would love to catch a great band or two while I'm down. Haven't even looked into that.

One last thing. The wineries in and around town are FLOODED with bachelorette parties every weekend. If you have some single guys in the crowd it may be worth a trip out to the hill country to try and pair with a bachelorette party.

The thread here

Don't do wine tastings. It is a rip off. Look for a bottle you think you will like and buy it, it will be a better deal.

Bring a cooler with sandwhich meats, summer sausage, cheese and other snacks. (crackers, waters, etc.) You will thank me later. Places like Becker have outdoor seating where you can drink a bottle and eat a picnic lunch.

Other recs: William Chris, pedernales cellars, lewis wine

Not the worst place. They have big projection screens and cook good food. Don't knock the steak and shrimp until you have tried it. Wings pretty good too.
