What exactly are you asking? Transportation from FCA?

Asking about airlines, best routes, timing for purchasing tickets etc.

Gotcha. No clue on that but I am in the area. FCA should be cheap to fly into in September as it's almost shoulder season by then.

Not to be a smartass, but there are more than a few user friendly websites for this.

I've flown that route Delta, through Salt Lake City, I believe. Check with them.

Looking at google flights, Delta isn't too bad.

MSY to FCA is pretty easy these days. You can reach there in 1-stop on Delta, Alaska, and United via about 6 or 7 different hubs. More than likely you'll be doing the following:

- Departing MSY early AM (6-7am) to arrive in FCA by ~Noon

or

- Departing MSY mid/late afternoon to arrive FCA at Midnight

Returning you're pretty much going to be stuck on a 6am departure with a mid-afternoon arrival to MSY.

Not sure if this would work but when we went Spokane and Missoula were both considerably cheaper. Bozeman also but that's a good bit farther drive.

Yup. Plus, the drive up 93 from Missoula around Flathead Lake is breathtaking. MSO is only 2 hours south from here and the drive is incredible and worth saving the money if you're renting a car anyway.

Definitely open to Missoula option especially if it opens more time options and saves a few dollars. We will be renting a car anyway. My wife isn't a big plan of flying and wants to make sure we sit together. Can we reserve seats on United? Delta? Alaska?

Okay I've done some browsing and will post the results below. MSY to Missoula is about $490-$580 on Delta or United depending on if you are willing to do 2 connections (the $490 price) or just 1. Surprisingly, your best option is flying into Kalispell on Delta (last option below)

United to Missoula:

Thurs Sept 21.
8:30 AM – 10:23 AM
New Orleans (MSY) – Denver (DEN)

11:40 AM – 1:50 PM
Denver (DEN) – Missoula (MSO)

Return Thurs Sept 28

8:25 AM – 10:33 AM
Missoula (MSO) – Denver (DEN)

12:45 PM – 4:24 PM
Denver (DEN) – New Orleans (MSY)

OR

2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Missoula (MSO) – Denver (DEN)

5:03 PM – 8:23 PM
Denver (DEN) – Houston (IAH)

9:45 PM – 10:58 PM
Houston (IAH) – New Orleans (MSY)

Total is $551 on a basic economy fare, which does not give you a carryon bag. If you wanted to book the economy ticket that does give you a carryon, it's $590. You would still have to pay $25 to check a bag in either case.

Delta to Missoula:
Thurs Sept 21
4:20 PM – 7:06 PM
New Orleans (MSY) – Minneapolis (MSP)

7:55 PM – 9:56 PM
Minneapolis (MSP) – Missoula (MSO)

OR

6:50 PM – 9:28 PM
New Orleans (MSY) – Salt Lake City (SLC)

10:00 PM – 11:27 PM
Salt Lake City (SLC) – Missoula (MSO)

Returning on Thurs Sept 28
5:50 AM – 9:15 AM
Missoula (MSO) – Minneapolis (MSP)

10:05 AM – 12:39 PM
Minneapolis (MSP) – New Orleans (MSY)

Total is $522 for this basic economy fare, $561 for the normal fare where you pick seats together.

Nola to Kalispell on Delta:
Departing Thurs Sept 21
1:45 PM – 3:45 PM
New Orleans (MSY) – Los Angeles (LAX)

4:40 PM – 7:31 PM
Los Angeles (LAX) – Salt Lake City (SLC)

10:00 PM – 11:39 PM
Salt Lake City (SLC) – Kalispell (FCA)

Returning Sept 28th

6:10 AM – 7:46 AM
Kalispell (FCA) – Salt Lake City (SLC)

8:30 AM – 9:37 AM
Salt Lake City (SLC) – Los Angeles (LAX)

12:55 PM – 6:38 PM
Los Angeles (LAX) – New Orleans (MSY)

LINK

Total is $504 for regular economy, which allows you to pick seats with your wife. More than likely there will be a schedule change between now and your flights that will allow you to pick better flight times if available. That is a huge advantage.

He is a good dude.

I looked a bit and his solutions were better than mine.

Happy travels, post pics, that's a beautiful place on the planet.
