We ( wife and I) are going to Vegas at the end of June. I was checking out some of the prices and Spirit seems to be the best by far .This is our first time going, we are both 50. We have some comped rooms at the Linq any tips or shows we should see would be appreciated...Tia

I hope you don't need to bring any luggage with you. They charge something like $50 per carry on bag. Not checked bag, carry on.

They charge you for everything. I think I heard they charge you if you print out the boarding pass at the counter.

I think they are the airline that tried to charge for using the bathroom but the FAA shut that down.

If your room is comped just spend a little extra money for the direct southwest flight

Southwest used to be a low fare airline.

They still are. What are you talking about?

They aren't. Frontier, Spirit, and Allegiant are the budget airlines. Southwest is essentially the 4th legacy carrier now, just has a different fare pricing structure.

They did that to me. They really want you back as a customer.

Aside from the surprise costs (which you can easily avoid getting surprised by if you do a little research) what makes sitting in their shitty airplanes any worse than the other shitty airplanes?

Noticeably less leg room, if you ever thought that was possible.

I would only fly Spirit on routes under two hours and with little or no carry-on luggage.

They have so few planes flying on their routes that if you get a delay, it can domino into real problems going to Plan B and C and D....

As was suggested here earlier and I've done it more than several times, the best bet on MSY-LAS-MSY is the Nonstops via Southwest.

Flown with them countless times and never had an issue. I only bring a book-sack on board and print my ticket at home. Also, because I fly so much with them I ended up paying the 29.99 a year to be a member and I get to bring a back for 9.99 now. So if I want a carry on it cost an additional 20. My ticket is still lower than many of the competitors though.

the passengers. I thought I was going to catch cholera. It's like taking a greyhound bus.

I will say the guy next to me was a TD'er though so that made up for it

Just went to Vegas a few weeks ago and flew Southwest. A friend flew Spirit and their luggage got lost. All I've heard were horror stories every time someone mentions Spirit.
Regarding shows, "O" at Bellagio is absolutely amazing.

Haven't used them but know friends who have. Fares are cheap cause they charge for everything else. Checked bags? $50 both ways to and from! Chips, peanuts? $3 Soda? $5. Don't even worry about alcohol. A couple buddies have had there luggage lost, and say seats are like park benches. Absolutely no padding, straight metal to arse. Good luck trying to nap too no recline of any sort!

I literally just got off Spirit from FLL to Lima, Peru. I think it's their longest flight. It really wasn't that bad. The seats are pretty firm and they don't recline, but I didn't find the leg room all that terrible. Although I'm not tall.

The cheapness of it far outweighs the lack of comfort IMO, but I'm a cheapskate so I'll sit just about anywhere to save a few hundred bucks.

And you can bring a carry on without being charged, just not 2 bags. It's cheaper to check it anyway.
