I just use the stock music app, don't particularly like it, but it seems the best to integrate with Ford sync

I use Google Play Music All Access and YouTube Red.

For downloaded stuff though, I remember PowerAmp being awesome. I have been meaning to try out Viper4Android

Viper is an EQ, I use it on my 6P, the Viper Atmos Sony Beats Edition specifically.
The 6P's dual front speakers come to life.
Flash away, zips are at the very bottom

Yeah I knew it was an eq. I wanted to make Google music sound better.
Isn't it a little more than flashing?

No. Flash the zip and then open the app and set the EQ to your liking and turn it on if it's off. It works across all sound.

I remember reading that I would have to change system settings and delete some stuff. Hmmm. So I saw a few versions, which one is recommended?

ViPERAtmos 5.5 Sony Beats Edition
Music profile
EQ Preset > Open (Flat to tame bass if needed)
Surround Virtualizer > Off
Dialog Enhancer > On
Volume Leveler > Off or On
Wipe caches after flash.

What's the difference from the three zips up top and the ones at the bottom? The ones at the bottom wouldn't download for some reason.

Threads like this scare me because I will probably have to go Android at some point. Why is this even a question? Why doesn't the phone just do it?
