Didn't their 60 inch panels get recalled (or they had supply issues) and they aren't selling them right now? Your choices on a 2016 m series appear to be limited to 65" or 55".

yep. forgot about that. they chose an odd panel for the 60" not used by any other size tv they sell. dumb decision that backfired on them.

I got a 55" Samsung for $699 at Costco.

That deal is no longer valid, but if you are OK with a 55" UHD TV, this seems to be a good deal at $549.

LG 4K TV

ETA: This appears to be a better deal than the TV I got. This is a really good deal on this TV.

What is UHD? Is that the same as 4k?

Ultra High Definition. Yep. It's 4K.

Next question, what is HDR and do I need it?

If you can find a budget model with both get one that has the capability to do HDR and Dolby True Vision. The capability for both may only be available on higher end models, though.

I bought that exact same HG TV at Costco in early Sep. it's a great deal for a 4K 55" I've seen thus far. I bought it as a third TV for my bedroom with a wall mount and it's very legit.

If you are buying a lower end TV I wouldn't be too concerned about HDR. The cheaper displays don't get bright enough or have the colors to do the HDR content any justice. I don't think you will find a 2016 4K TV that doesn't support some form of HDR even if it lacks the brightness and color.

The LG, sorry, should've clarified that.

I just ordered the Samsung un65ks8000 for 1379

It's pricier but it's top of the line. The 60 wasn't much cheaper

60 is an odd size for many manufacturers and models
