You're going to get a lot of people singing the praises of Cox's higher speeds but I've stuck with U-Verse for a couple of reasons. First is that I vowed many years ago not to ever deal with Cox again. With that having been said, I've had U-Verse since AT&T first rolled it out in Baton Rouge and have had only two or three hurricane-related outages during that time, all generously compensated for by AT&T with credits on my bill. My speeds are consistently at or above what I pay for with no slowdowns during heavy usage periods, an inherent disadvantage to sharing bandwidth over coaxial cable. I do a lot of video streaming over the internet and have had no problems with two simultaneous streams. I have the internet max plus plan at 18 mbps which is more than adequate unless you do a lot of heavy-duty downloading.

It wasn't very consistent for me when I had it in NO. High pings and lots of slow downs.

When I had U-verse internet, it was very consistent. Always operational, always high pings, always suspiciously slow at buffering HD streams in some services. It's been a few years, so it may have improved the streaming issue. I have cox now and prefer the 5x higher bandwidth even with the occasional outage. Reliability is really location-dependent, or even residence-specific.

This. At my parents' place, every night between 8-10PM, Uverse is good for 1-3 ~2 minute outages. Not a huge deal if you're just browsing, but bad for steaming movies and gaming.

They also kept charging my gamgam for months of services after she cancelled. This despite her calling them several times to try to clear the issue.

Somethings I like are the Menu, price comparative to other options locally, and channels, space on the DVR is far superior to what Charter offered.

Things I don't like, sometimes Internet speed seems slow (came from highist level speeds from Charter to AT&T so speed diff was noticeable), little things drive me nuts like when you turn the TV on you have to tell it "OK" to watch TV. Not sure why you would turn on the TV to not watch TV.
