So Best Buy is having a sale on their Ipad Mini 2's. LINK

What's the point of having a tablet when, seemingly, my Iphone can do anything that Mini can?

TLDR; Sell me on buying a tablet

If you think your iPhone does everything you need it to, there's no point in getting a tablet of any sort.

And your title is going to get this thread anchored.

It's bigger and easier to navigate and read?

Back in the day, I got a Nook. Initially I used it like crazy. Took it everywhere.

At that time, I didn't have a smart phone.

When I finally caved in and joined the real world and grabbed a smart phone, I used it for everything.

Not sure I've touched the nook for more than 3 hours in the last 3 years.

Some people still use their tablets a ton but I think after the initial surge of use, a lot of people have them off to the side gathering dust.

Especially people with large screen smart phones.

Only way I see you using it a ton is if you actually use it for work.

And if that is true then you should be using a Surface Pro 3.

I'll also say I have an ipad air 2 and a surface pro 3. I rarely use my ipad, but I use my SP3 95% of the time, even over my regular laptop.

If I were traveling I would prefer to watch a movie on a tablet vs. a phone. I think the Phablets are returning Tablets to the luxury computing device category though. Nobody needs a tablet but there are certain situations where the larger screen is advantageous.

I read on mine. Had a first gen kindle fire and just got the newest 6 inch version. Wanted one thinner and lighter. I have an iPhone and my wife has an iPhone and iPad mini. But I like the kindle store for books and didn't want to spend a ton on one.

I bought a Surface 2 for under $300 on Amazon a month or so ago. I use my laptop almost exclusively as a desktop now, and I bring my Surface with me whenever I leave home. Has all of the Microsoft Office products if I need to do some work, has the keyboard cover if I am doing anything more than browsing, and the kickstand in the back is pretty convenient.

Mine's Wifi only, though, so I can't watch movies on the road or anything like that.

I have a Nexus 9 that I keep on my nightstand to browse the web and read/check email at night and in the mornings. It's much better than a phone simply due to the screen size.

I use my Surface Pro 3 for work, but I dont consider that a tablet.

When I'm at home I'm always on my tablet instead of the phone (LG G3). Love the phone but why read, watch videos, surf the Internet on a smaller device.

Also I read a ton so it gets a lot of use.
