I am moving to a new apartment and wondering if I should go with 15mbps download with 1.5mbps upload or 30mbps and 2mbps upload. The service is through Suddenlink. I play some video games online (FIFA) and do a fair bit of streaming through Netflix/HBO go. Just wondering if I'll notice the difference between the two speeds.

15 mbps should be plenty for download speed. I'd be more concerned about your lack of good options on upload speed.

I thought the upload speeds seemed low. I may go with the 30 download so that I can at least get 2mbps upload.

Do you plan to send alot of data out of your network? Unless your hosting these online games, I'm not sure why 1.5 up isn't enough.

I don't plan on sending out any extraordinary amounts of data out. I don't believe you host the game itself when playing something like FIFA.

I guess I'll go with the 15 down and 1.5 up and save a few dollars.

That's what I would do. You can always upgrade later if you need.

How many people sharing the bandwidth?

If it's just you, I think 15/1.5 would work. But I'm all about speed and would go 30/2.

I have suddenlink 15 down. Works great for us. Can have two HD streams going concurrently without a problem either on Netflix of amazon. I play on xbox live without a problem. I do occasionally have some trouble getting a clear picture using crackle.
