You can watch it on multiple platforms as long as they are on the same network. You WILL get the boot if they sense that you're on a different network.

That's a big advantage over sling

I switched to Vue last month. I run it through Fire TV. Has been great thus far. Cut out direct tv $120/month now $35!

Can you or anyone else here comment on the quality of live sports streams using vue on Fire TV?

Just ordered a new Fire TV and was thinking of checking it out. Currently I've been using Sling on Xbox one and I've found that the app is pretty buggy on there and it's also unreliable for live sports events. Seems to do better with recorded content.

I watch ESPN on VUE and MLB TV (Stand Alone App) on my FireTV with no problems at all. Looks great to me.

What sort of bandwidth do you have with your ISP?

It was pretty solid for the NBA playoffs, even with the 30FPS. The FireTV is slated to get an update very soon that will bump the frame rate to 60FPS which should make the picture quality on par with just about anyone.

Good deal. Just want to make sure that the service will be adequate for watching college football. I might see if the Sling service is any better on the Fire TV than on the Xbox. I'm convinced that the Xbox app is just really poor.

I don't remember exactly what it is, but I'm on like the second lowest plan and I run a ton of stuff off of my wifi all at the same time and have had 0 problems with picture quality or buffering. And I'm a huge sports fan and watch sports the majority of the time so trust me I wouldn't sacrifice my sports viewing if it was shite.

A little help on choosing a setup.

I currently have ATT U450 with 18mbps Internet. I've been pleased but price is now $225 which is way too much after promo period.

I can move to TWC for a year... 200+ channels and 200mbps Internet for a year for $110 plus taxes.

Or, I just bought a Fire TV and can get PS Vue for $45 in my area for the middle tier package. Internet through ATT would be $60 (included their basic cable to get the best rate) or about $45 with TWC.

I'm actually leaning towards sticking with cable for a year at the TWC promo rate. I hate needing to deal with this crap every year though... But even the Internet only is at a promo rate.

Neither have data caps.

Thoughts?

If one of the vue tiers has the channels that you like then it's a no brainer for me. I have not missed a single thing in the 4 months that I've had vue. Also, consider that vue doesn't require any type of contract. You just log in and cancel any time you want with no penalty. The freedom feels fantastic . So with that in mind...if you don't like vue through your firetv you've lost nothing. You just go get cable again. Whereas if you go cable first and then change your mind...consider the ramifications

The beauty of it all is the no contracts. You can just switch between Sling and Vue at the drop of a hat on the FireTv. I ran the trial before cancelling DirecTV and haven't looked back.

One thing as a sports fan, I think the feeds are a little behind. I'm pretty positive the ESPN feeds are straight from WatchESPN, so the delay is similar. It didn't really impact me during basketball because I'm really mainly a football fan. The delay with regards to group chats and twitter. Every time Les does something my buddies don't like, I'm sure the group chat will ding about 15 seconds before I see it. But oh well.

Man that's great news. I was honestly thinking of switching back to cable just for LSU football which would have been a huge waste.

Picture quality is great for sports.

I'll usually watch them on my PS4 being that it's a faster machine than my Fire TV.

Apparently there's a free upgrade to elite from Access going on right now

You pay for access but get Elite. 3 month deal

I signed up tonight after I set up the Fire TV

Immediately cancelled sling. Interface is better with no buffering or lag.

Will never even consider going back to cable again after verifying the life sports feeds are flawless.

Live on the outskirts of Lafayette closer to Milton.. tried to sign up for an account/trial only to get endlessly redirected to a page that says "Sorry, Playstation Vue is not available in your location." (LINK )

talked to several different Sony people on the support chat, and all of them were very helpful and informed.. Unfortunately, each one of them eventually came back with something along the lines of: "After doing some more digging, it appears that the service is simply not available in Lafayette. We are trying to fix this.."

They wouldn't come right out and say it was Cox related.. but everything i've read says that other ISPs in Lafayette have it working just fine. I asked if there were other cities having this issue, and they responded with "Lafayette is the main one".

unfortunately we are just far enough outside of the city that Cox is our only option.

Has anyone heard of any success with VPNs and Vue?

I used to live South of Maurice and was able to get Vue with COX. That really sucks, considering I was actually in Lafayette's map.

You're not the first one to have this issue. Quite a few in the early stages of this thread had problems with COX. They both need to fix their problem, but mainly Vue. Their anti-sharing security is a little to strict and has probably lost them more money than earned.

Did any of themy get it resolved? I was able to breeze right thru setting up a trial this morning, because I did it on my phone over 4G. Sony initially located my phone IP in Dallas, and I just changed it to match my billing address and rolled right thru. As soon as I reconnect to wifi (cox), it gives the message about not being available.
