My house was pre wired for 4 outdoor cameras. Currently, we have wires hanging down from our exterior stone. So I figured I might as well put a camera up. One of the cameras will be on the front of the house so it will face the drive way. I'm worried about this being an eye sore.

I can not decide between these two:

Watch dog cameras:

I have already talked to the guy and he will sell me this for $1300 if I install it myself. I prefer the dome camera instead of the bullet. I think it will look better.

The security system I currently have is trying to sell me this and only this one. They also refuse to install the watch dog cameras even if I pay them for the work.

Between these two which would you suggest? Which is better quality?

I wouldn't mess with the Honeywell and the first one seems on the high side but not too bad if he's including monitor, UPS, etc and going to warranty it.

What type wires do you have ran in the house ?

I have this system and couldnt be happier. Camer resolution is great and IR night vision impressed the hell out of me.

Amcrest

ETA:
They have different packages for dome and gimbal mounts. I went half and half with the domes going inside house and gimbals going outside.

That's cat5e, so whichever cameras you end up getting, make sure they're IP cameras. Also, you might want to trace the cables back and look for a PoE (power over ethernet) injector. It's just a small box that injects power into that cable so the camera can get power and transmit video over that one cable. The PoE injector can be a standalone box, or whatever switch/hub those cables run to might have PoE capability. If you do have PoE, make sure the IP cameras you get can use it. Otherwise, the cameras will need a power outlet nearby.

If you are installing it yourself I would just buy a Hikvision IP system off Amazon. If you want it installed I would call a local dealer and buy it all from them.

Isn't it illegal to make money from aerial photography/videos via drone?

Not sure if it is quite yet, but that bit on his site may be out of date anyway. It references using his plane rather than the drone he bought last year.

Dude, I just bought 5 bullet cameras and 4 dome cameras, all Hikvision, off of Newegg for $795.

Do not pay $1300 for 4 cameras that you have to install yourself.

I've been trying to figure out the difference between the DS-2CD2032-I and the DS-2CD2032F-I. Any ideas?
