This is super cool. This link shows their 2 mm thick, dual sided video display (wallpaper). From a commercial standpoint or from a residential design standpoint, this has lots of potential.

LINK

Also, this is a video from a trade show last year where they sort of unveiled it, but this is the first time on a trade show floor.

We saw this at a trade show 2 weeks ago... amazing pic quality and the ultra thin part of it is really cool..

lets just say that you can tell from where they fall in their pricing they are really proud of this product.

Modular display tiles are going to be the future TV.

3 years ago an OLED TV would have cost $20k. Now you can get a 65" as low as under $3k.

In a few years the costs come down. There's no tuner. There's no speakers. You just need to feed it a signal and apply power. I wonder what they're limited by in terms of printing out a size? The size of the printer most likely.

Absolutely. By 2020 or 2022, there will be few barriers to wall TVs, a la Fahrenheit 451, other than price.

Perhaps at some point, you won't choose a TV size, just how many panels you hang together and sync to make as big a screen your wall or wallet will allow.

Is exactly what will happen.

Will probably happen eventually. I have been keeping up with OLED technology since 2006. One of the screen manufacturers (can't remember which one right now) bought an old newspaper plant for manufacturing, since they can make the panels so thin that they can be rolled up.

I also have been keeping up with this technology too. I saw an article about it 5 yrs ago. I told my Dad to buy a bunch of LG stock…

The problem for OLED is HDR content. If HDR takes off OLED is currently not the best option. OLED are great for black levels but they do not get bright enough for HDR.
