I'm needing to install a phone system in my new office building/warehouse. It seems that a cloud-based system is the way to go.

Anyone have experience with a local company in Baton Rouge that provides this service? We would be pairing this with Cox internet.

I'd rather not use Cox for the phone system. TIA!

Transformyx is the best in BR by a long shot. Transformyx.com
Belle-Tech can do any cabling you need (shameless plug ) and they can roll it into one invoice if you like.

Thanks for the info. Do you have a local contact for them?

You must not have dealt with Gage. I've seen too many IT companies pretend to do voice only to fail miserably. Don't get me wrong, Transformyx is great at what they do, but IT is their core.

How much are you all paying for VOIP?

I just inherited a digital phone system and would like to go back to internet based VOIP but that $20/mo/line + new phones is going to be cost prohibitive.

Blaine Buteaux can help you, if not he will point you to several people that can.
I'm sorry, but I'm not going to list numbers and emails here.

We own our own system. Upgraded to Avaya IP Office last year. No monthly payment per handset. It’s worth the initial cost if you’re using a lot of phones. We’re using around 70.

That’s about how many I would need. How much did that cost?

Price is variable depending on location, how much construction is involved to get fiber to the business, what services are being offered, etc. I could give list prices but I don't think I've ever seen a sale at list price.

Can go here for a quote

Last thing I need right now is another sales person wrecking my phone and inbox. I'll hold off for now.

eta: I can get phone system + domestic calling added for $20/user/mo. Phones are around $250 but I can lease them. Are these other solutions cheaper than that?

I routinely see $25-$27 per phone or so for everything when bundling with the amount of phones you're talking about. That's going to include the cost of the phone, all calling, etc.

We are off College drive and have Eatel for fiber internet and also VOIP Phone system. It is wonderful and their internet is 100x better than Cox.

Initial cost was about $42,000. I think my Cox quote was about $30/ handset per month. That’s about $25K/ year. This made my decision easy.

Transformyx is good people but more about the hardware. For VOIP phone service with little to no capital cost, check out Razorline. They are based in NOLA but have salespeople in BR almost daily.

GAGE has been in BR for 40 years and cloud-based VoIP is their primary business.
