How is this different from my old generation Apple TV besides Siri and able to play games. Am I able to download different apps?

Yes, there is an app store on the newer ones.

There's also other apps besides games, but the Apple TV app store is really limited right now.

I like the remote. I have it so it turns on my TV, which triggers the sound bar to turn on. I control it all from a nice tiny remote instead of my harmony.

Apple TV is terrible fwiw.

A $25 Fire Stick is better.

You should email Tim Cook. Then he'll be able to announce during the Apple CC in a couple of weeks, "We've found the one person!"

Seriously, the touchpad is a disaster. It's good for scrubbing through timelines, though it's a bid fiddly when you try to stop at a given point, but it's a terrible replacement for the directional pad and navigating lists and whatnot. Even for scrubbing, they had to change the behavior from the initial release, because it was too easy to swipe when you just meant to press the notional "buttons" embedded in the touchpad, or when you picked it from the wrong end, or you were just being "careless" with handling it. Now, you have to pause before you can start scrubbing. It's a terrible design.

Yeah, I was just reading an article the other day about the Apple TV being a dead in the water platform.

Thanks for the heads up on the cheaper price for the 64GB. Gonna pick one of these up in the morning!

I like it. The remote will take some time to get used to, but will program the iPhone to control the device. The speed of the device is excellent. More apps which means more channels (i.e. Nick, Nick Jr., etc). Like you can have Pandora and other platforms. And able to play games is a plus. For cord cutters and your house is dominated with Apple, then you should consider it. Everything is crisp and clear.

An excellent price. Usually $199 at Apple Store. I know some will claim chrome stick, etc. Apple TV also can access your Apple cloud for home pictures, videos, etc. I am use to the Apple platform and the price is well worth it.

I picked a 64GB up yesterday and played around with it for a little while before my 6 yr old hijacked it. So far, it's a big improvement over my 2nd gen Apple TV. Siri's implementation is a very nice feature too.

Quit being apple sheep and research your products. Apple tv is not even top 10 best tv device. The price alone should make you look around.
